Even Elon Musk was shocked by what a former State Department official revealed about Liz Cheney

Shocking detail in Liz Cheney’s history may have set her on the path to go after Donald Trump as a member of the January 6 Committee.

All hell broke loose when DOGE shut down the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

A group of House Democrats tried to grandstand and then threw a fit when they were denied entry into the USAID headquarters.

But even Elon Musk was shocked by what a former State Department official revealed about Liz Cheney.

Donald Trump didn’t know exactly what to expect when he first entered the White House in January of 2017.

Most Presidents have at least some background in politics, but Donald Trump was a businessman who only made his first bid for political office in 2016.

As a result, Trump made a few mistakes early on that prevented him from draining the Swamp.

“The biggest mistake I made was I picked some people,” he told Joe Rogan in October. “I picked some great people, you know, but you don’t think about that, and I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked.”

But Donald Trump clearly learned from those early mistakes, and he hit the ground running the moment he took the oath of office on January 20, 2025.

In addition to his slew of executive orders reversing many of Joe Biden’s failed policies, Donald Trump also began taking a sledgehammer to the Deep State.

On his first day in office, Donald Trump revoked the security clearances of the 51 former intelligence officials who signed the letter in 2020 claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.

He also publicly fired thousands of Joe Biden’s Presidential council appointees the following day, including Joint Chief of Staff chairman Mark Milley.

“The Pentagon also removed a portrait of Milley — who Trump once suggested should be executed for treason — just hours after inauguration,” Axios reported. “At least 15 senior Justice Department officials have been removed or reassigned, including one who played a key role in the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago in August 2022 as prosecutors sought evidence that Trump had mishandled classified documents.”

Trump also created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and put Elon Musk in charge of ferreting out government waste to cut and worthless programs to shut down.

Within a few days, Musk had already canceled 104 DEI contracts that saved taxpayers more than $1 billion.

“DOGE is saving the Federal Government approx. $1 billion/day, mostly from stopping the hiring of people into unnecessary positions, deletion of DEI, and stopping improper payments to foreign organizations, all consistent with the President’s Executive Orders,” DOGE wrote on X. “A good start, though this number needs to increase to > $3 billion/day.”

But all hell broke loose in Washington, D.C. when DOGE shut down the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and put Secretary of State Marco Rubio in as its acting head.

Congress appropriated $40 billion for USAID in 2023 alone.

As of 2016, USAID had more than 10,000 employees on its taxpayer-funded payroll.

Musk called USAID a “criminal organization” that was “run by radical lunatics.”

He also revealed some of the wasteful spending at USAID, such as funding “a transgender opera in Colombia through the State Department.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson shared some of the outrageous spending through the USAID, which he called “madness.”

He listed line items like $1.5 million on “job opportunities for LGBTQ people in Serbia,” “$2.5 million for electric vehicles in Vietnam,” “$3.2 million for helping migrants readjust to living in their own country,” and “$3.3 million on being LGBTQ in the Caribbean.”

But former State Department official Mike Benz revealed a shocking connection between Liz Cheney and the USAID that surprised Elon Musk.

“Liz Cheney, who led Trump’s impeachment and the mass imprisonment campaign against thousands of Trump supporters, was spawned out of USAID,” Benz wrote on X.

He shared a previous post he made in December, pointing out that “Liz Cheney worked earlier in her career at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).”

Musk shared the post and commented, “Interesting.”

That Liz Cheney worked for USAID is not all that surprising given her support for endless wars and intervention overseas.

Cheney represents the neocon wing of the Republican Party that Donald Trump wrestled power from when he entered the scene.

And Cheney committed a crime as Vice-Chair of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee.

If not for Joe Biden’s pardon of her, Cheney could be sitting in a jail cell.
