With the Trump administration working to end Democrats’ longstanding strategy of weaponizing government agencies, the Left has now gone all-in on weaponizing the Judiciary.
And as a result, Democrats handpicked this federal judge to take out the Trump administration.
But he’s hiding a dark secret that changes everything.
All-in on stopping Trump
Democrats are desperate to find any way in which they can stop, or at least slow down, President Donald Trump and his administration’s efforts to root out waste, fraud, and abuse within government.
In fact, Democrat Attorneys General from various Democrat-controlled states have been running a massive, nationwide search for left-wing judges who are willing to issue various temporary restraining orders and injunctions to stop the Trump administration’s policy agenda in its tracks and prevent the President from carrying out essential functions of the Presidency.
One would struggle to find any action taken by President Trump over his first few weeks in office – even those the overwhelming majority of the country supports – that Democrats haven’t attempted to stop through their left-wing allies in the Judiciary.
To date, five Democrat judges have blocked various executive orders issued by Trump since he returned to the White House on January 20.
But one of those Democrat judges in particular has a laundry list of conflicts of interest that could very well derail Democrats’ entire effort.
Recently, Rhode Island District Court Chief Judge John J. McConnell Jr. issued a temporary restraining order blocking the Trump administration’s efforts to freeze various aspects of federal spending until waste, fraud, and abuse can be weeded out by the Department of Government Efficiency – a far broader ruling than Democrat Attorneys General were even seeking from him.
Judge McConnell argued in his ruling that the Trump administration was ignoring a prior order on unfreezing government spending that was issued by another Democrat judge, and therefore ordered that all federal spending be restored, specifically for former President Joe Biden’s disastrous infrastructure bill, which spent far more on environmental extremism than actual roads and bridges, and the erroneously-named “Inflation Reduction Act,” which did nothing to actually fix the inflation crisis that kicked off as a result of Biden’s left-wing policies.
He even went so far as to threaten to bring contempt of court charges against any member of the Trump administration he deemed to be ignoring his ruling, even if his ruling was ultimately overturned.
“Persons who make private determinations of the law and refuse to obey an order generally risk criminal contempt even if the order is ultimately ruled incorrect,” Judge McConnell wrote.
Skeletons in his closet
Of course, if a judge has to hedge against the possibility that his ruling is “ultimately ruled incorrect,” it’s generally a surefire sign that he knows the ruling isn’t rooted in the law to begin with.
After all, McConnell’s ruling effectively prevents the duly elected President from actually fulfilling his duties by illegally limiting powers rightfully bestowed upon the office by the Constitution.
But the Judge’s ruling shouldn’t really be a surprise, especially when you consider his lengthy history as a top Democrat insider.
According to campaign finance records filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Judge McConnell donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to major Democrat politicians, like former Presidents Barack Obama and Biden, as well as former First Lady Hillary Clinton and former Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), prior to being appointed a federal judge by Obama almost immediately after he took office in 2009 – surely there was no quid pro quo there.
Additionally, McConnell donated more than $200,000 to various Democrat state parties, and around $190,000 to Congressional Democrats.
He even served as the head of Rhode Island’s Planned Parenthood chapter.
And none of that includes his wife, Sara Shea McConnell, who despite claiming on FEC and other financial disclosure forms to be a “homemaker,” supposedly donated more than $250,000 to Democrat candidates, including $28,000 to Obama’s first Presidential run – the one that magically resulted in her husband becoming a federal judge.
Attorney Ed Whelan pointed out on X that the revelations about McConnell’s deep ties to top Democrats could ultimately backfire on him.
“As someone who wants Trump to abide by all judicial orders, I have to say that Trump probably welcomes a confrontation with this fatcat donor of Sheldon Whitehouse’s who has celebrated and endorsed critical race theory and who got a surprisingly mediocre rating from ABA,” Whelan wrote on X.
No matter how you slice it, this entire ordeal is going to continue to fester until the Supreme Court steps in and takes a Constitutional stand against activist judges who are attempting to legislate the end of the Trump Presidency from the bench.
