King Charles and Prince Andrew Made a Deal and William Just Blew It Up

King Charles reportedly struck a secret deal last fall to protect his nieces from the fallout of their father's disgrace.

Now Prince William is torching the purported agreement to protect the two princesses Andrew left in disgrace.

But only time will tell whether or not it ultimately helps or haunts William's quest to save the monarchy.

King Charles Protected Princess Beatrice and Eugenie After Prince Andrew Lost His Royal Titles

When King Charles stripped his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of every royal title last October, Buckingham Palace made a point of reassuring the public that Andrew's daughters – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – were blameless.

The reasoning was sound.

Beatrice and Eugenie had nothing to do with their father's years of association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

They were children when most of it happened.

So Charles cut a deal directly with Andrew: give up your titles, vacate Royal Lodge, and accept exile to Sandringham – and your daughters keep their positions, their privileges, and their place in the royal fold.

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie confirmed the arrangement publicly.

It was supposed to be the clean resolution to an ugly chapter.

William had other plans.

Prince William Banned Princess Beatrice and Eugenie From Royal Ascot Over Epstein Files

Prince William has reportedly been pushing his father to cut Beatrice and Eugenie out completely – and now he's getting his way.

The first blow landed last week.

Both princesses were quietly informed they are banned from Royal Ascot this June – not just from the royal enclosure, but from the traditional carriage procession their family has participated in for generations.

A source told the Daily Mail that Beatrice has taken the news "hardest" and was "completely blindsided."

William didn't stop there.

Royal sources say he has advised other family members to avoid being photographed with the York sisters for the rest of the year.

The Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly want to keep Beatrice and Eugenie at arm's length entirely.

Royal biographer Russell Myers, who covers the Wales family, confirmed William is not acting unilaterally – noting that William, having watched the chaos caused by Harry and Meghan going against the family hierarchy, would not move against his father's wishes.

But palace insiders suggest William has been the driving force behind the purge, with Charles yielding to pressure rather than leading the charge.

Lownie put it plainly in People magazine: "William wants it all cleaned out before he gets on the throne. He wants it dealt with now."

The Bomb Charles Just Handed Andrew

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor agreed to his humiliating exit from royal life because he thought he got something in return.

He surrendered his titles and his mansion – because he thought he’d be protected legally.

Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday, February 19th, on suspicion of misconduct in public office – accused of forwarding classified government trade documents to Epstein while serving as the UK's trade envoy in 2010.

Emails released by the US Department of Justice show he forwarded official reports to Epstein just minutes after receiving them.

If convicted, the charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Andrew has denied all wrongdoing.

But here's what matters for the monarchy: Andrew still knows things.

Royal experts spent months noting that his cooperation with the exit deal was contingent on his daughters' security inside the family.

A man facing potential life imprisonment – who thinks his daughters are being wrongly humiliated by his nephew – has very little reason to keep protecting the institution that just broke faith with him.

William wanted the York problem resolved before he becomes King.

He may have just handed their father the motivation to make sure William's reign starts under a cloud that never lifts.
