Anthony Fauci lied to Congress about funding research in Wuhan and Rand Paul proved it.
Last week the DOJ indicted Fauci's own senior adviser for destroying the records connected to that research.
Now the statute of limitations expires Sunday – and Sarah Palin says she knows how Washington will handle Fauci.
Fauci Adviser Indicted for Destroying COVID Records and Hiding Emails
David Morens isn't some mid-level bureaucrat who went rogue.
He was Anthony Fauci's senior scientific adviser at NIAID for sixteen years.
The DOJ charged him with conspiracy against the United States, destruction and falsification of federal records, concealment of records, and aiding and abetting – all tied to a scheme to shield COVID-19 research documents from public accountability.
Prosecutors say Morens told colleagues that a staffer at NIH walked him through how to delete emails before government searches could find them.
He moved communications to his personal Gmail to keep them beyond the reach of federal transparency laws.
He coordinated with EcoHealth Alliance's then-president – the organization that funneled NIH money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology – to bury alternative theories about COVID's origins.
He also received bottles of wine delivered to his home and invitations to Michelin-starred dinners in Paris, New York, and Washington as thanks for what the indictment describes as his "behind-the-scenes shenanigans."
House Oversight Chairman James Comer said prosecutors caught Morens red-handed – and the evidence came directly from the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic's own findings.

Rand Paul Says Fauci Lied to Congress About Gain-of-Function Research
Sarah Palin has been a conservative voice since she electrified the country in 2008 – and she knows exactly how Washington works.
She posted a facepalm selfie this week alongside Paul's call for DOJ to act before Sunday.
She wrote that she's "sitting here hoping against hope it'll be more than a sternly-worded letter this time."
She warned that if Fauci "skates," trust in government that's "already hanging by the thinnest frayed thread is irredeemable."
That's not pessimism.
That's sixteen years of watching the swamp protect its own.
Paul has been equally direct – and equally right.
He confronted Fauci on camera in Senate hearings on May 11, 2021, accused him of lying to Congress about NIH funding for gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and cited the specific grants, the specific research, and the specific scientists.
Fauci denied it every time.
NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak later admitted to Congress that the U.S. government did fund gain-of-function research in Wuhan.
Now Fauci's senior adviser has been criminally charged for destroying records connected to that same research program.
Paul's message to DOJ this week was simple: you have until Sunday.
The Statute of Limitations on Fauci Perjury Expires Sunday
The Morens indictment tells you prosecutors already have the evidence.
You don't charge Fauci's right-hand man for destroying COVID records without knowing what those records said and why someone needed them gone.
FBI Director Kash Patel said it himself – using records violations to dodge transparency is something his FBI will not tolerate.
The question is whether that standard applies to the man who ran the operation or only to the people beneath him.
If DOJ lets Sunday pass without action, Fauci walks.
Not because he's innocent.
Because the clock ran out.
Every American who watched their small business get destroyed, their kids masked in school for two years, and their elderly parents die alone in nursing homes under policies Fauci championed will know exactly what happened.
The system protected one of its own.
Again.
Palin asked what the public reaction will be if Fauci skates.
DOJ has until Sunday to make sure nobody finds out.
