Trump Just Made a Bold Hunter Biden Prediction that Upends the Whole 2028 Democratic Primary

Joe Biden pardoned his son for twelve felonies and walked out the door smiling.

Now that son is posting "LFG" about running for president in 2028.

And the sitting president of the United States just said he might actually win.

Trump Says Hunter Biden Could Win a Democratic Primary

Fox News' Peter Doocy asked Trump on Thursday whether Hunter Biden could actually win a 2028 Democratic primary.

Trump didn't laugh him out of the room.

"I would say his past is not the greatest," Trump said, before delivering the real punchline.

He pointed to Graham Platner – the scandal-drenched Maine Senate candidate who admitted to sexting at least six women while married and whose wife had to personally warn his own campaign about it – and shrugged.

"If the guy from Maine can do well, I guess Hunter can do well too."

Trump wasn't wrong.

Platner is the Democrats' best shot at unseating Susan Collins in Maine.

He has a tattoo that looks like a Nazi symbol, a Reddit history full of racist and sexual assault comments, and an active account on an app Senate Republicans called a "predator's paradise" for child exploitation.

Chuck Schumer backed him anyway.

If that man is the future of the Democratic Party, Trump's implication was clear – a pardoned felon with a crack pipe and a camera is frankly overqualified.

Hunter Biden Pardon Cleared the Way for a Presidential Run

Hunter Biden was convicted by a jury on three felony gun charges in June 2024.

A Delaware jury found he lied on federal firearms paperwork – claiming he wasn't a drug user when he bought a revolver – during a period he has publicly acknowledged as his crack cocaine years.

He also pleaded guilty to nine federal tax charges, admitting he blew through nearly $5 million on personal indulgences while leaving the IRS short $1.4 million.

Total prison exposure before his father stepped in: up to 42 years.

Joe Biden – the man who spent his entire career swearing he would never interfere with the Justice Department – issued a "full and unconditional pardon" covering his son's federal offenses all the way back to 2014.

That 2014 start date wasn't accidental – it covers Hunter's entire time on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where Republicans have long alleged the family cashed in on Joe Biden's name.

Hunter walked away clean.

The 2028 Democratic Primary Field Has a Hunter Biden Problem

The 2028 Democratic primary field currently includes Gavin Newsom, AOC, and – at 14% odds on Kalshi's prediction market – Hunter Biden.

Let that list represent the party for a moment.

Newsom presided over California's collapse into tent cities and open-air drug markets before spending years preparing a presidential run his own party blocked.

AOC is a socialist who has spent six years proving she can raise money and lose arguments.

And Hunter Biden – convicted felon, tax cheat, pardon recipient, and now social media personality – is registering at 14% before announcing anything.

Trump compared Hunter not just to Platner but to James Talarico, the Texas Senate Democrat he said "looks like Alfred E. Neuman" – and noted that if scandal-soaked candidates keep winning Democratic primaries, Hunter has roughly equivalent odds.

He wasn't mocking Hunter Biden.

He was mocking the party that would nominate him.

Why Hunter Biden 2028 Odds Keep Climbing

Hunter Biden's "LFG" post got more than 8,000 likes.

Democrats frustrated with the establishment – the same Democrats who watched their party push an 81-year-old man with obvious cognitive decline through a general election – are the ones inflating those prediction market numbers.

They want a fighter.

They want someone who has been attacked by Republicans and can attack back.

They've apparently decided that a man whose criminal history includes lying to buy a firearm while on crack cocaine and failing to pay taxes on $5 million in personal spending is their counterpuncher.

This is the logical destination of a party that spent years insisting Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation, then watched a jury convict him on the laptop's contents in three hours.

They didn't learn the lesson.

They're making him a martyr and laying groundwork for a candidacy.

Trump saw it clearly enough to give the honest answer: in the Democratic Party of 2026, a pardoned felon with name recognition clears the bar.

The bar is just that low.
