Obama's Justice Department buried the FBI investigation into ACORN and let the voter fraud ring survive for years.
Now the FBI just raided a Soros-funded Ohio voter fraud group with the same fraud record and the exact same excuses.
Democrats called it a witch hunt – which is exactly what every guilty man says when the FBI walks through the door.
OOC Already Had a Convicted Canvasser and a Paper Trail a Mile Long
The Ohio Organizing Collaborative was not hiding.
For years it operated in plain sight as a self-described "voting rights" organization whose actual record of voter fraud was simply never investigated at the federal level.
In 2017, OOC canvasser Rebecca Hammonds was convicted of falsely registering voters – including deceased individuals – to meet the organization's quota.
She told the judge she felt she had to "keep the numbers up" or the OOC's local funding would be pulled.
That is not a rogue employee.
That is a pressure system built to manufacture voter registrations by any means necessary.
The corruption runs deeper than Hammonds.
OOC board member Kirk Noden founded Black Fork Strategies, an Ohio canvassing firm the Secretary of State's office described as having a "bad reputation" for years – with its operatives referred to authorities for investigation.
Hamilton County election officials sat down to a pile of voter registration forms where every card looked like it came from the same hand.
One of those cards was filed in the name of Henry Kissinger.
Hamilton County Board of Elections member Alex Triantafilou said what everyone else was only thinking: "This is fraud, outright fraudulent behavior."
When the FBI showed up last week, they did not send a few agents.
Federal agents hit OOC's Cleveland headquarters simultaneously while dozens more fanned out across Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati – serving subpoenas, seizing electronic devices, and questioning staffers at their homes.
OOC board member Prentiss Haney called it a "full-on assault" and compared it to Selma in 1965.
An organization with nothing to hide does not respond to a court-authorized search warrant by invoking the civil rights movement.
The Soros Money Trail Leads Straight Back to the Last Leftist Voter Fraud Ring
George Soros has pumped at least $2 million into the Ohio Organizing Collaborative through his Foundation to Promote Open Society.
That is the same Soros network that financed ACORN before Obama's DOJ quietly closed the FBI's national investigation in 2009 – after 18 ACORN workers had already been convicted of voter registration fraud.
ACORN registered Mickey Mouse.
OOC registered Henry Kissinger.
The excuses were identical in 2008 and they are identical today: rogue canvassers, political intimidation, nothing to find here.
The only difference is that Trump's DOJ is not closing this one.
Harmeet Dhillon's Civil Rights Division has requested voter rolls from every state in America, seized 2020 election ballots from Fulton County in Georgia, pursued records from Wayne County in Michigan, and just charged a California woman for paying homeless people in Skid Row to register to vote.
The OOC is also a central player in the push for the so-called Ohio Voters Bill of Rights – a proposed amendment that would automatically register voters, allow same-day registration, flood Ohio with ballot drop boxes, and strip the state's photo ID law down to nothing.
In other words: fix the rules so the fraud becomes legal.
Former Sen. Sherrod Brown – who Ohio voters already fired in 2024 – warned that "any attempt to intimidate Ohio voters is wrong."
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose had a different read, writing on X that it was a "five alarm fire" at Ohio Democrats and asking whether they always react that way when there is "nothing to find."
The OOC raised over $35 million between 2020 and 2024.
That money built a ground-level machine designed to flood Ohio's swing counties with voter registrations before every election – including the one coming this November.
Trump watched ACORN survive because Obama buried the investigation.
He did not build this DOJ to repeat that mistake – and what federal agents walked out of Cleveland carrying is exactly why Democrats are treating a routine federal search warrant like the fall of civilization.
