Ragin’ Cajun James Carville Erupted Again but This Time It Exposes a Massive Schism Inside His Own Party

James Carville has spent this year picking fights with everyone in his own party.

On Friday the Ragin' Cajun erupted again, and this time the target was the party's rising socialist wing.

What Carville demanded next is a word Democrats have spent years refusing to say out loud.

Another Socialist Primary Sweep Sets Carville Off

James Carville built his entire career finding the exact center of the American electorate and standing on it.

This has been the year he stopped standing there quietly.

Carville has already torched a scandal-plagued Maine candidate and warned Democrats their coalition is coming apart.

On Friday, in a video appearance for Politicon's YouTube channel, he aimed at the DSA-backed candidates now toppling Democrat incumbents nationwide.

"These people are so f—ing stupid, I don't know what to say about it," Carville said of the new wave of democratic socialist candidates now winning Democrat primaries nationwide.

He was not talking about Republicans.

He was talking about his own party.

The trigger was simple: another round of Democratic Socialists of America-backed candidates had just knocked off establishment incumbents, and Carville could not sit still for it.

"So now we have this idea that these insurgent Democrats," Carville said, before demanding to know what their actual plan was.

"Is their solution to beat Republicans, to run against Republicans? No!" Carville said of the insurgent wing.

"Their solution is to beat Democrats like they're part of the problem," he continued.

Carville reached back a decade to explain why this pattern enrages him, tying it to Bernie Sanders and the 2016 primary fight against Hillary Clinton.

"Goddamn Bernie Sanders is the reason that Donald Trump is president," Carville said, adding, "You hear me?"

It is a striking accusation from a man who spent thirty years telling Americans to trust the Democratic Party, now aiming his fury at the party's own left flank in real time.

The Democrat Strategist Demands a Schism With His Own Party's Socialists

Carville did not stop at relitigating 2016.

He turned to the current class of Democratic Socialists of America-backed winners, including the New York trio endorsed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Carville has gone further in private than he did on camera Friday.

Discussing New York winner Darializa Avila Chevalier on his podcast, Politics War Room, Carville said he no longer belonged in the same party as her, and argued it is time Democrats said the word out loud: schism.

Carville warned voters against what he called "false prophets," singling out Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed by name for claiming the progressive movement does not need "party elites" like himself.

Carville insisted his party deserves no blame at all, running through the same tired partisan scorecard Democrats have recited for decades, crediting his own side for every good thing and blaming Republicans for everything else.

"I am a proud liberal," Carville said. "I am not a leftist."

The distinction matters because Carville is not a bystander.

He is the architect who built the "New Democrat" brand that got Bill Clinton elected twice, and he is now watching his own creation get torn apart from the left.

Meanwhile, thirty-five DSA-backed candidates have already advanced or gone unopposed in primaries this year, with more contests still ahead of the November midterms.

For years, conservatives said the Democratic Party was being hijacked by socialists like Mamdani and Sanders, and Democrats called it a right-wing conspiracy theory.

Now the man who built that brand is saying it for them, on camera, with his own name attached.

Carville is not a Fox News host or a Republican strategist looking to score points.

He just told his own voters their party is being run by people who would rather destroy Democrats than beat Republicans.

That is not a talking point.

That is a confession.

Carville has already said the word Democrats have spent years avoiding out loud: schism.

That is not the language of a party that expects to win in November.

It is the language of a man watching his own house catch fire and admitting there is no one left inside who knows how to put it out.
