Now a Democrat running for Senate in Arkansas just said the quiet part loud.
Hallie Shoffner did the math out loud, and the ratio should make every American furious.
Shoffner Puts A Price Tag On American Labor
Hallie Shoffner sat down with a local podcast host and let her guard all the way down.
She's the sixth generation "FarmHer" trying to unseat Senator Tom Cotton this November.
She wanted Arkansas voters to know exactly how she feels about the people ICE is rounding up.
She called them some of the hardest working people she knows.
Then she said it's "absolutely ridiculous" they're being deported at all.
And then came the line that will follow her for the rest of this campaign.
"We'd trade five Americans for just one of them," Shoffner said on the Free Arkansas podcast.
Five Americans. For one illegal alien. Not because he's a citizen, but because he's cheaper labor who won't complain.
She didn't stop there either.
Shoffner asked why there's no legal pathway for illegal workers to stay employed in America.
She never once asked why five actual Americans deserve a shot at that same job.
Her campaign has spent years defending farmers who hire undocumented labor instead of American workers.
She's run a nonprofit that assisted "undocumented Hispanics" and said she learned Spanish from the farmhands working her family's land.
This isn't a slip of the tongue. This is who Hallie Shoffner is.
Cotton Campaign Smells Blood And Doesn't Let Go
Tom Cotton's team wasted no time turning Shoffner's own words against her.
Campaign spokesman James Arnold said Shoffner "isn't denying" she employed illegal immigrants herself.
He said Arkansans deserve to know how many illegal aliens she hired and how she paid them.
Her campaign never answered the question.
Instead they doubled down, insisting she only wants to "reform" ICE, not abolish it.
Conservative activist Laura Loomer said Shoffner is "unfit to serve" for putting illegal aliens first.
The White House noticed too.
Press secretary Lauren Bis cited Shoffner's comments as proof Democrats put illegal aliens ahead of Americans.
Bis brought up Laken Riley and fellow victim Sheridan Gorman in the same breath.
Gorman was an 18 year old Loyola freshman gunned down in Chicago by an illegal alien Biden's border patrol had already caught and released.
Both women were murdered by illegal aliens Democrat policies let walk free in American communities.
Shoffner wants Arkansas to forget that connection ever existed.
This Is A Party Pattern, Not A Gaffe
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy already told MSNBC that "undocumented Americans" are the people Democrats care about most.
That wasn't a joke either. That was a sitting United States senator admitting it years before Shoffner ever did.
Put Murphy and Shoffner side by side and you don't get two isolated comments.
You get a party that has quietly decided American citizenship is a technicality, not a value.
Shoffner isn't some fringe activist. She's the Democrat nominee trying to flip a Senate seat in a state Trump carried easily.
If this is what a "moderate" Arkansas Democrat believes on camera, imagine what she'd do with a vote in Washington.
Cotton's sitting on nearly an eight point lead right now, and Shoffner just handed him another five.
Every American who's ever worked a hard, honest job just got told they're worth one fifth of someone who broke federal law to get here.
That's not an accident. That's exactly what Hallie Shoffner told Arkansas she believes.
