DeSantis Campaigned For Dan Green in Florida and Told Republicans How to Win 2026

Ron DeSantis spent two years making Disney answer for pushing gender ideology on Florida kids.

Now he's turning that same fighting record into a national playbook heading into a brutal 2026 midterm map.

Standing before a Florida crowd this week, DeSantis laid out exactly how Republicans still win when Washington says they can't.

DeSantis Ticks Off Disney Fauci and Soros By Name

The governor stood in St. Cloud, just south of Orlando, campaigning for Navy veteran Dan Green.

He barely touched Green's resume.

Instead he ran through his own record, and he made sure the room heard the whole rundown.

DeSantis says Florida beat Fauci on COVID policy.

He says the state did the same to Disney over gender ideology in the classroom.

Two Soros-backed prosecutors got removed from office next.

Then it was Martha's Vineyard, over the 2022 migrant flights that made national headlines.

Sharia law got banned outright, which DeSantis credits with shutting down the Muslim Brotherhood's foothold in Florida.

Universal school choice gutted the teachers unions' leverage.

And paycheck protection stopped SEIU cold.

Pick any single one of those and you've got a national news cycle on its own.

DeSantis rattled off seven of them back to back like he was reading a hit list.

The Popeye Line That Explains the Whole Strategy

Here's the part that actually matters for next year.

DeSantis told the crowd he has never polled a single issue in his entire time as governor.

Not once, he says.

"I am what I am," he said, borrowing the line straight from Popeye.

Translate that out of cartoon-speak: no consultant gets a vote before DeSantis signs a bill.

Compare that to how Washington Republicans operate, running every position through a focus group before anyone commits to anything.

DeSantis says that habit is exactly what turns winnable fights into Republican retreats.

He pointed to his own 2022 reelection as proof, a race he says experts had written off as a coin flip in what was supposedly a swing state before he won it by nearly twenty points.

Florida's 54 Percent Debt Payoff Meets the Amendment 3 Property Tax Pitch

DeSantis says Florida has cut its state budget four years running.

He says his tenure alone has retired 54 percent of all debt Florida had ever accumulated before he took office.

He also says in-state university tuition hasn't moved a dollar since he became governor, while everything else got more expensive.

Florida voters act on that same instinct next month, when Amendment 3 asks them to start phasing out property taxes permanently.

That is the actual pitch to the national party: stop managing decline and start cutting things.

Every House Republican sweating a redrawn district in 2026 is watching whether a candidate who runs on that record, not on vibes, can actually close.

Dan Green is one House race.

The real question is whether DeSantis's model survives contact with a midterm map Republicans aren't supposed to win.

Dan Green vs. Darren Soto Becomes the Test Case for Florida's Model

Here's the thing nobody in the Beltway press wants to say out loud: national Republicans already have every tool DeSantis used, they've just never had the nerve to use them on a map this tough.

DeSantis just handed the national party a cheat code, and it isn't complicated.

Pick the fight, win the fight, then say so loudly enough that your own voters remember who did it.

That's precisely how a governor supposedly washed after a bad 2024 primary run is now the guy candidates fly in to headline their rallies.

Every consultant who told House Republicans to play it safe heading into 2026 just got outworked by a man who has never once asked permission from a pollster.

If that record travels from Tallahassee to a single flipped House seat this November, the "Florida model" stops being a talking point and becomes the only model the national GOP has left to copy.
