More and more Americans are becoming part-time delivery drivers to make ends meet in Joe Biden’s disastrous economy.
Usually, these jobs are usually uneventful, second jobs that provide a little extra income.
But this Florida delivery driver went through one fresh hell and then ended up becoming a hero.
Florida DoorDash driver became a hero after just one phone call
The skyrocketing cost of living under Joe Biden’s failed administration has seen more Americans than ever look to gig economy jobs like DoorDash to make enough money just to get by.
Florida DoorDasher Billy LeBlanc was making a late-night delivery and ended up becoming a hero after making a split-second decision.
LeBlanc noticed that 34-year-old John Powell was lying on the ground in the middle of an intersection in West Melbourne, Florida.
The DoorDash driver got out of his car and discovered Powell had been injured in a motorcycle accident and was left injured on the dark road.
LeBlanc called 911, not knowing if he was too late to make a difference.
“I told the 911 dispatcher he was dead, I thought he was dead,” LeBlanc told FOX 35. “I wouldn’t wish it on anybody, but I’m glad I was there and was able to help him.”
“I made an attempt to get a pulse on his wrist,” LeBlanc explained. “I didn’t feel anything. At that point, I figured I would just try to roll him over and give him CPR and give him the best chance he could have.”
Driver left motorcycle rider for dead on a Florida road
Police found surveillance footage that showed 24-year-old Rebekah Tate trying to remove Powell’s motorcycle from under her car.
She then tried to drive away from the scene of the accident with the motorcycle still attached to the front of her car.
Tate was seen calling for help and was eventually picked up at the scene.
“I’m glad they caught her,” LeBlanc said. “That’s the main thing they got her.”
The police arrested Tate for tampering with evidence and fleeing the scene of an accident.
One of Powell’s friends, Leah Lindstrand, told Fox 35, “She left him there to die, like how could you?”
Powell is recovering but still has a long way to go to get back to 100%.
“Essentially, both of his legs don’t work,” Lindstrand said. “He’s got one big fracture on the left leg, another on the right leg. I know he’s got rib fractures. It broke my heart to see him like that. He’s doing better, so that’s good.”
LeBlanc was glad to hear that Powell had been taken out of the intensive care unit.
“I’m glad he’s alive. I’m glad he’s a strong guy, obviously, because she hit him hard,” LeBlanc said.
The DoorDash driver found Powell in the street at 2:30 am during one of his delivery runs.
At that time, there was no telling when someone else would have shown up if he had not been there.
“I was glad I was in the right spot at the right time to help him out,” Leblanc said. “It feels good to know he survived because when I got there, it looked like he was not going to make it.”
A random DoorDash delivery very likely saved the life of John Powell.
