Lottery officials in the Sunshine State were stunned to learn one woman won the Florida lottery nine straight times in a row!
But as it turns out, the “luckiest woman” in Florida wasn’t so lucky after all.
And this Florida woman won the Florida Lottery nine times in a row, but then her “luck” ran out in the worst way possible.
It was all just too good to be true
Americans love the thrill and the possibility of “making it big” by winning the lottery.
It is an adrenaline rush many people crave, so they squander money buying tickets hoping to beat the almost insurmountable odds and score their “pathway to riches.”
Of course, they lose money and most do not usually win anything, let alone “strike it rich.”
Except one woman who did win, not once, not twice, but nine times in a row!
Talk about good luck!
Except as it turns out it wasn’t really luck at all, and now the “lucky” lottery winner is behind bars.
Once a con – always a con
Sometimes criminals spend time behind bars and end up having a change of heart while they are doing time.
But, unfortunately, not usually.
And a 38-year-old ex-con who was on probation proved that some crooks just simply cannot stop breaking the law.
The woman wanted to get cash quickly, but instead of working hard and earning money like most people, she resorted to theft.
But it backfired, and it backfired in a big way.
The Florida woman was busted when she was caught stealing lottery tickets and then trying to immediately cash them in.
According to local law enforcement officers, the woman reached behind the counter of a Circle K and stole 48 lottery tickets.
Some would think this was pure insanity.
And she was stupid enough to think she would not get caught.
Or perhaps she was arrogant and overconfident of her thievery skills.
Whatever the reason, her plan for a quick “path to riches” backfired.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd spoke about the incident and said, “She went in a convenience store, reached over the counter and stole a whole lot of lottery tickets,” the Miami Herald reported.
Then, the woman had the “bright idea” to take all her stolen tickets to another store hoping to cash them in and win big.
But just the opposite happened.
“She didn’t win the lottery, but she did win a trip to the county jail,” Sheriff Judd continued.
Most people are wondering if the larceny lottery lady really thought she would not get caught.
Leave it to crooks and thieves to think they are above the law.
Both foolish and impatient
According to the sheriff’s office, it was the woman’s own impatience that did her in.
Instead of waiting, the woman immediately started cashing in the stolen tickets, the Miami Herald reported.
And now, instead of riding off into the sunset with pockets full of cash, she is charged with unarmed burglary, obtaining property by fraud, grand theft, and a probation violation.
Some criminals seemingly just have to repeat the same crimes over and over again, never learning their lesson.
