Leftists and Never-Trumpers all expected their big payouts for their anti-Trump charades.
One CNN mouthpiece finally got his and the fiasco could put a nail in the network’s coffin.
Because this former White House reporter who irritated Donald Trump finally got his due in one spectacular train wreck.
Jim Acosta got his own show—and the debut on CNN was as awful as you’d expect.
Acosta claims he still has “marks on my back” from “standing up” to Donald Trump.
But the truth is, Trump is the best thing that ever happened to Acosta’s career—and without the firebrand Republican in the White House CNN is becoming so irrelevant it’s about ready to close-up shop.
In the past year the company’s viewership has tanked with 90% of viewers abandoning it for better alternatives.
Acosta’s new show, Democracy in Peril, seems to have been created to convince their few remaining viewers that the network is all washed up.
In fact, his debut show only attracted 593,000 viewers compared to the 2.6 million watching Sean Hannity over on Fox News.
And it was such a trainwreck, we have to assume plenty of those viewers just couldn’t help rubbernecking.
Acosta doubled down on the failing strategy that has brought his network to ruin by pushing ill-judged Democratic talking points that have helped make Joe Biden one of the least popular United States presidents ever.
Acosta’s entire first show was dedicated to its namesake leftist argument that the United States will cease to exist as a free society unless left leaning Democrats ram through their “voting rights” scheme.
But there’s a reason even Democrats won’t go along with Biden’s insane plan to nationalize elections and send out millions of official ballots as part of a permanent universal mail-in voting system.
It doesn’t take a genius to realize that system will create all kinds of security issues and open up American elections to rampant fraud.
Of course, Acosta set the tone for his show by inviting the one guy on to appear who knows all about sketchy voting setups—none other than Democrat election lawyer Marc Elias.
Elias is the go-to guy for Democrats who don’t like how they performed at the polls and can be counted on to show up and dispute unfavorable results.
On occasion, he even makes an appearance before an election like in Virginia last fall when he just happened to pop up right around the time Democrats decided to turn the governor’s race into a costume contest by posing as tiki-torch-wielding racists and claiming to support Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin.
The turncoat “Republicans” behind the anti-Trump Lincoln Project took responsibility for the stunt, but it’s telling that those involved were known Democrats.
Apparently, Acosta and his bosses at CNN think they can save themselves by pushing even more hyped-up fear mongering.
So, the “reporter” turned host prodded Elias producing some spin about how Republicans are all set to “steal” elections.
“I think we are one, maybe two, elections cycles away from a real constitutional crisis because you now have one of the two major parties in this country that is no longer committed to free and fair elections, no longer committed to the peaceful transfer of power,” Elias said. “And, you know, it’s easy for people to dismiss this as the rantings of crazy people. But the fact is Donald Trump was the President of the United States when he was talking about calling up the military. These people who we now dismiss as, you know, as off their rocker were working for the President of the United States. And they’re now working for Republican candidates around the country.”
If anyone is “off their rocker” it’s the party pulling lame stunts with tiki-torches.
But it’s an admittedly best-case argument for political players who don’t want to explain exactly why operatives were recorded hauling mysterious bundles into ballot counting areas back in 2020.
However, Acosta’s pathetic ratings are likely a direct reflection of the fact that voters simply aren’t dumb enough to buy the nonsense power hungry radical leftists are selling.
From playgrounds to nursing homes, average American’s know exactly what “fair play” looks like and that’s why 80% of Americans support voter ID laws that have been put into place by Republican legislatures around the US.
The only “constitutional crisis” on the horizon will be served up if a minority of radical leftist Democrats manage to somehow get even more control over this country.
