The entire Biden administration is in the middle of one ugly crash.
In spite of overwhelming evidence, they’re frantically trying to pretend no one can see the reality right in front of them.
And a Fox News journalist picked this moment to take out Joe Biden’s completely incompetent press secretary with one line of questioning.
Joe Biden’s administration is like a kid who just broke his mother’s vase and is trying to glue it back together desperately hoping she won’t notice it’s utterly destroyed.
When it became abundantly clear the economy is slipping into a recession, the Biden administration decided on the most juvenile approach ever: bald-faced lying.
Lately Biden has been trotting out every “official expert” he can to lie about the definition of a recession.
In the past a recession has always been defined as two quarters of negative economic growth.
But suddenly Joe and Friends are running a full force propaganda campaign claiming two quarters of negative growth is not a recession after all.
That lie was published on the White House’s website, repeated by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and echoed by White House Economic Advisor Brian Deese.
Then Karine Jean-Pierre showed up for a press conference wearing her red power suit only to get cut down in a matter of seconds by Fox News’ Peter Doocy.
“If things are going so great, then why is it that White House officials are trying to redefine ‘recession’?” Doocy asked.
“No, we’re not redefining recession,” Jean-Pierre responded.
“We all understand the recession to be two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth in a row,” Doocy shot back.
“And then you have White House officials go up here to say, ‘No, no, that’s not what a recession is. It’s something else.’ How is that not redefining ‘recession’?”
Jean-Pierre struggled to make eye contact with her audience as she repeated, “That’s not the definition. That’s not the definition.”
Then Doocy pulled out his ace in the hole quote.
“Brian Dees said in 2008, ‘Of course, economists have a technical definition of a recession, which is two consecutive quarters of negative growth.’”
That certainly brought on a fit of incoherent sputtering until she managed to explain that she can only “speak to” what Brian Dees said during the recent Biden lie fest.
“I can speak to you to what he said yesterday in front of all of you, which is the last thing that you just repeated,” Jean-Pierre claimed. “There are many factors, there are many factors, economic factors and indicators to consider. And I will say that the textbook definition of recession is not, is not, two negative quarters of GDP.”
That’s an argument that only holds as long as a dictatorial government gets to become the sole arbiter of truth.
The next thing you know Biden will reinstitute his Ministry of Truth and set them to work burning college economics textbooks.
