Chuck Schumer can feel the power slipping through his fingers.
Joe Biden’s collapsing regime is taking down Schumer’s fiefdom as well.
And Chuck Schumer is scrambling to save his career after an old friend of Hillary Clinton delivered some devastating news.
Chuck Schumer is the quintessential politician—which means it’s his job to push his party wherever the wind blows.
That’s an increasingly dicey proposition as warring factions in the Senate clash over how socialist Biden’s agenda should be.
That process is getting downright ugly as storm clouds gather ahead of the midterm elections.
For more than a year Democrats have had absolute control over the House, Senate, and Presidency—enough time to prove their approach is fundamentally rotten.
They’ve managed to inflict the highest inflation rate in 40 years on Americans, embolden criminals, spike gas prices, and destroy the economy.
Naturally, Democrats’ poll numbers are in free fall.
Now, a venerated Democrat operative has figured out precisely how much trouble Democrats face in less than eight months.
Douglas Schoen worked on Bill Clinton’s 1996 campaign and Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential run.
Now the Clinton insider is sending a wake up call to Democrats who’ve drifted far off course trying to please people on the radical fringe of party politics.
“The Democratic Party is perceived by voters as being both ineffective and out of touch and, as a result, stands to suffer substantive seat losses in the midterm elections,” he said.
His company recently revealed that 54% of voters, including 56% of independents, want Democrats to correct course by adopting moderate policies and move to the center.
A mere 18% think Democrats should embrace more leftist policies with a slim 13% saying politicians should stick to their current course.
A huge part of the problem is that Democrats have become a party of coastal elites.
A full 61% of Americans Schoen polled say that Biden and Friends are “out of touch with hard working Americans” and “have been so focused on catering to the far-left wing of the party that they’re ignoring Americans’ day to day concerns.”
And you’d better believe voters are painfully aware how much Biden and the Democrats are making life miserable on a daily basis.
Whether they’re trying to figure out how to pay for both food and gasoline or living in a neighborhood devastated by crime, Biden is destroying everyone’s lives.
Biden’s numbers are in a chronic decline.
In Schoen’s poll 54% disapproved of the job Biden is doing with only 45% approving.
And those numbers are only going to tank more.
As fellow former Clinton insider James Carville once famously said, “It’s the economy, stupid.”
Based on that, Biden has nowhere to go except down.
In the poll 59% of those polled disapproved of his performance related to the economy—only 38% approved.
No surprise, more than two thirds believe Biden is partially or fully responsible for inflation.
When they go to the polls in November, inflation and the economy are almost guaranteed to be the criteria voters use when making their decisions.
That’s why Schoen sent an ominous warning to Democrats.
“Ultimately, if Democrats do not embrace a strategic shift to the political center, they risk historic defeats — worse than 1994 or 2010 — in this year’s midterm elections,” he said.
When even a Clinton insider says Democrats have veered too far left, we know things are getting ugly.
Democrats have been hijacked by socialists like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—and they may be driving the whole mess off a cliff.
At this point, it’s almost impossible for Schumer to push his party toward adopting more moderate policies because they’ve made moderates virtually extinct within the party.
That reality spells doom for Schumer and Nancy Pelosi as they deal with paper-thin majorities.
Thanks to his party embracing the far-Left, Schumer could soon find himself sitting on the sidelines watching Republicans trying to clean up the mess Democrats created.
