Of all Democrats’ witch hunts against Donald Trump, Alvin Bragg’s seemed to be the one most poised to put the former President on trial prior to Election Day.

And that was going to help propel Joe Biden to re-election despite his historically low approval ratings.

But this judge just hit Alvin Bragg with a soul-crushing ruling that put his Trump witch hunt in jeopardy.

Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted former President Donald Trump for supposedly falsifying business records to cover up an alleged campaign finance violation that stemmed from a $130,000 payment former Trump attorney Michael Cohen allegedly paid porn star Stormy Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement to not reveal details of an alleged affair with the former President.

According to Bragg, even though he doesn’t have jurisdiction over campaign finance violations – those are a federal matter – and the Biden Department of Justice determined there was no merit to the allegations, he can still somehow secure a guilty verdict without even having to prove that Trump committed the alleged crime.

The Manhattan Democrat DA moved quickly to indict Trump, leading a Democrat-appointed judge to schedule a trial for March 25, making it Democrats’ best chance to put the former President on trial before November’s General Election.

But federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York did Bragg no favors when they finally decided to respond to Trump’s discovery request for documents relating to its investigation into Cohen, producing thousands of new documents just weeks before the trial.

That led Trump’s defense team to request a 90-day postponement in order to sift through all of the new information, while Bragg countered by offering a 30-day delay.

Rather than make an immediate determination, Judge Juan Merchan chose to hold a hearing on the original March 25 trial date to determine how long the trial will be postponed.

Needless to say, with all of their other witch hunts running into major issues, Democrats aren’t taking the news well, as it could mean the trial doesn’t happen before Election Day.

As CNN’s Paul Reed pointed out, even if the Democrat-appointed judge sides with Bragg and only delays the trial by 30 days, Trump’s legal team still has a slew of motions and filings they can make in order to delay the trial.

“The defense had asked for a 90-day delay to go through some discovery, and the surprise was that the prosecutor said they wouldn’t be opposed to a 30-day delay,” Reid whined to CNN’s Jake Tapper. “Now it‘ll be up to the judge. So this judge could come back and say 30 days, 45 days, hell, we‘ll give you 90 days.”

“But what’s astonishing to me, Jake, is this is the one case that was on the calendar,” he added. “The other three criminal prosecutions are in limbo and even if he delays it 45 days, let’s say, there‘s nothing that would require me to say absolutely, this will go, you can always come back and delay it again every week, every filing, every little delay makes it possible this may not go before the election. So this was a real shocker.”

With Alvin Bragg’s case against Donald Trump now joining their other witch hunts in limbo, Democrats are more nervous than ever about Joe Biden’s re-election prospects.
