Kamala Harris has been struggling to keep her campaign together in the final couple weeks before Election Day.
But top Democrats are starting to be more open about their doubts.
And this one secret was just leaked about Kamala Harris to the press that has Democrats grinding their teeth in anger.
Democrats begin panicking over election odds
About just one month ago, Democrats were cheerfully celebrating, what they believed to be, an easy win on Election Day.
Top officials within the party thought that they successfully pulled off a perfect, last minute substitution when they threw their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris in place of President Joe Biden.
Their strategy was that by replacing Joe Biden at the last possible second, they would manufacture a new sense of energy for Democrats, while simultaneously appeasing independent voters that hungered for a choice besides Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump.
They also believed that it would catch the Trump campaign off guard, enough so that they would have little-to-no time to build a new campaign message to combat Trump’s new opponent.
And they found success in that strategy for about eight full weeks.
Kamala Harris walked onto the campaign trail with a campaign already stacked with billions of dollars in free media coverage while the press drooled over her campaign of “joy.”
This was immediately followed by the Democrat National Convention, which effectively served as a four-day infomercial, which granted her extended favorable coverage through the rest of August.
But just seconds after the September debate had concluded, the polls began to take a turn for the worse for Kamala Harris.
That was because Kamala Harris needed to do more than just repeat the same, old tired lines about Donald Trump that people have heard on repeat for nearly a decade.
What she had to do was present herself as a real candidate to become the President of the United States.
But she had failed in epic proportions in making that case.
The very first question in that debate was about whether she thought Americans were better off today than they were just four years ago, in which she predictably responded with a word salad.
But in the giant pile of words she had in her answer, “yes” was not a single one.
Once the dust had settled following the debate, Kamala’s poll numbers started to make a full vertical decline as she completely failed to convince voters that she was capable of holding the Oval Office.
And now, RealClearPolitics shows their polling average giving Trump the lead in every single battleground state.
Plus, early voting totals are showing grim news for the Democrat Party.
Republicans appear to be leading in Nevada, while also delivering favorable trends that are on track to give them North Carolina as well.
These types of developments are extremely rare to occur, particularly during this part of the campaign season.
And the first slate of numbers coming out of Georgia and Arizona are giving an added boost of enthusiasm for Trump.
Democrats are pulling their hair out behind closed doors
Party strategists are beginning to believe that Kamala does not have what it takes to win.
“Everyone keeps saying, ‘It’s close,’” one Democrat strategist noted in an interview with The Hill. “Yes, it’s close, but are things trending our way? No.”
“And no one wants to openly admit that,” they continued. “Could we still win? Maybe. Should anyone be even slightly optimistic right now? No.”
A second political strategist gave a similarly damning assessment, pointing to the Harris campaign’s decision to bank on “vibes” as a tool being the reason for their shortcomings.
“If this is a vibe election, the current vibes ain’t great,” they also argued to The Hill.
These Democrat strategists gave credence to what journalist Mark Halperin had been reporting as the mentality within the Democrat Party, especially in the final days leading up to the election.
“A lot of tension in Democratic land because they’re behaving as if they’re losing, I’m just telling you if that’s the view of Democrats, too,” Halperin stated on his 2WAY platform.
“Not just the media, not just Republicans,” he added. “Trump campaigns behaving like they’re winning. And Democrats say that’s spin, they’re just spinning you.”
Halperin also noted that if today was election day, Trump would walk away victorious.
“Democrats today want you to think that they’re winning. So when they lose, they can claim the election was stolen,” Halperin argued. “Maybe, but they do think they’re winning.”
“And they’re not the only ones who think they’re winning. Not that this is the election of foregone collusion. But if it were today, Trump would win and the early vote is very ominous so far. So far for the Democrats,” he concluded.
Tapping in Kamala Harris to take over the Democrat nomination at the last possible second was certainly a long shot trick play.
Everyone knew the trouble that she would bring as a candidate.
But despite there being plenty of time for her to try and turn things around to her benefit, Democrat confidence in her and their Election Day odds appear to be diminishing by the second.
