MSNBC is quite possibly the most extreme mouthpiece for the Democrat party.
The network is so radical, it sometimes makes CNN look a little moderate.
And now this socialist MSNBC host just attacked America in the worst way that’ll leave you rolling your eyes.
The Left has gone after celebrities, books, TV shows, and more, all in the name of being “woke.”
MSNBC host and self-described socialist Lawrence O’Donnell is taking it one step further and attacking a song that most children know all the words to.
O’Donnell recently criticized Woody Guthrie’s famous folk song that most of us learned in preschool, “This Land is Your Land”.
The ironic part is that this song was once cherished by the radical Left.
Guthrie actually wrote the song as a counter to the Irving Berlin classic “God Bless America.”
O’Donnell said on his show that “This Land Is Your Land” is actually a “testament to America’s violent, unjust, and systemically discriminatory past.”
He continued, “[W]hen I was kid learning that song, I never wondered how the Navajo people felt about that, or the Sioux, or the Wampanoag tribe in Massachusetts where I was growing up. This land was made for you and me. When I was a kid, I never wondered how the Mexican people felt about that song, since California was once Mexico, and Woody Guthrie’s Gulf Stream waters were not always the southern border of this country. We purchased Louisiana in 1803 from the people who stole it from the tribes who were there before them…So no…this land was not made for you and me.”
O’Donnell’s rant about this song is strange. Guthrie was a communist sympathizer and did not believe in property rights. The entire point of the song was Woody Guthrie’s disdain for property rights.
So, O’Donnell criticizing the song must mean he only believes in property rights for the people who inhabited the land before Americans. Right?
While history shows that indigenous tribes in the Americas conquered and pillaged other tribes, the Left wants everyone to believe that conquest somehow magically began in the west.
Even Mexico has borders. In fact, Mexico is even stricter about border control than the United States.
The United States has the most open immigration system in the world. Still, self-described socialist liberals like O’Donnell tend to leave out these details that don’t match up with their narrative.
