Democrat California Congressman Adam Schiff’s enemies on the Left are starting to come out of the woodwork to try and derail his bid for higher office.
A popular left-wing activist, Andrew Kaczynski who blogs for CNN, seems to be one of them.
Kaczynski usually uses his K-File blog on CNN to brutally attack Republicans with opposition research hits.
So it always makes a splash when Kaczynski on very rare occasions turns his attacks on Democrats.
That’s because when K-File calls out a Democrat it usually means that the candidate has made some enemies on the Left.
Adam Schiff is currently seen as the frontrunner to be the Democrat nominee next year and vie to fill the Senate seat left open after the death of long-time Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein.
But Schiff is facing two fellow Democrat Members of Congress, baseball legend Steve Garvey, and Los Angeles news anchor Christina Pascucci in the all-party jungle Primary in March.
The K-File blog recently broke the story that Schiff claimed his home in Maryland as his Primary residence for over a decade while at the same time taking a homeowner’s tax exemption in California.
“For more than a decade, California Senate hopeful Rep. Adam Schiff has claimed his primary residence is a 3,420 square foot home he owns in Maryland, according to a review of mortgage records,” the K-File blog reported.
“At the same time, Schiff has for years taken a homeowner’s tax exemption on a much smaller 650-square-foot condo he owns in Burbank, California, also claiming that home as his primary residence for a reduction in his tax bill of $7,000. He did not take an exemption on his home in Maryland,” the K-File report continued.
Schiff’s spokeswoman Marisol Samayoa claimed to CNN that Schiff’s Primary residence is in fact in California, but his family moved to Maryland to be closer to Schiff while he served in Congress.
“Adam’s primary residence is Burbank, California, and will remain so when he wins the Senate seat,” Samayoa wrote in an email to CNN.
“As Adam has discussed openly many times over the years, including in his recent New York Times best-selling book, he and Eve made the difficult decision to move their family to the D.C. area to spend more time with his children while doing his job.”
“Adam’s California and Maryland addresses have been listed as primary residences for loan purposes because they are both occupied throughout the year and to distinguish them from a vacation property,” Samayoa’s email continued.
Despite this admission, Schiff’s campaign website has for years claimed Schiff and his wife raised their kids in Burbank.
“Settled in Burbank, CA, Adam and his wife Eve are the proud parents of daughter Alexa, age 13, and son Elijah, age 10,” Schiff’s campaign website reads.
The most recent California Senate race poll had Schiff at 20 percent, narrowly leading fellow Democrat Congresswoman Katie Porter who clocked in at 17 percent.
Meanwhile, Steve Garvey is working to consolidate the GOP vote and try to give Republicans a fighting chance to earn one of the two tickets to the November General Election.
That means Schiff could be in a real dogfight with Democrats running to his left in the Primary.
And this recent oppo dump against Schiff could very well be part of a major play by the left to sink Schiff.
