AG candidate Jay Jones got a cop fired for supporting Kyle Rittenhouse then “joked” about shooting a Republican

Much of the radical Left has completely lost their minds.

They can’t even pretend to be civilized anymore.

And Virginia Democrat Attorney General candidate Jay Jones got a cop fired for supporting Kyle Rittenhouse then “joked” about shooting a Republican with four words that will make your blood boil.

Democrat candidate jokes about murdering Republican politician’s children

Virginia Democrats thought they found their perfect candidate for Attorney General in Jay Jones.

Jones checked all the boxes for the modern Democrat Party – young, progressive, minority, and willing to weaponize his office against conservatives.

But Jones made one critical mistake.

He harbored abhorrent thoughts about a political opponent and his family, and then shared them with others via text message.

Republican Virginia House Delegate Carrie Coyner revealed text messages from August 2022 showing Jones fantasizing about violence against Republicans.

"On August 8, 2022 I had a text conversation with Jay Jones, what he said was not just disturbing but disqualifying for anyone who wants to seek public office," Coyner explained. "Jay Jones wished violence on the children of a colleague and joked about shooting [former Republican Virginia House Speaker] Todd Gilbert. It’s disgusting and unbecoming of any public official."

The exact text from Jones read: "Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, hitler, and pol pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head."

Jones placed Todd Gilbert alongside Adolf Hitler and Pol Pot, then said Gilbert would get "two bullets to the head" in a hypothetical scenario.

On the one hand, you could say he effectively called Gilbert a genocidal tyrant.  That’s the most charitable view of reading his comments.

But even taking the most charitable view, Jones was actually expressing something else as well.

Namely, that he either prefers or reveres Hitler and Pol Pot above a colleague from the opposing party.

And it’d be easy to think it’s the latter – confession through projection and everything.

But Jones didn’t stop there.

According to additional reporting, Jones also said Gilbert and his wife were "breeding little fascists" in reference to the Gilberts’ children.

The local Democrat Party’s response was appalling – they doubled down and kept their endorsement of a candidate who fantasizes about murdering Republicans.

Jones has a history of targeting police officers and conservatives

This isn’t Jones’s first rodeo when it comes to destroying people who don’t share his radical political views.

Back in 2021, Jones tried to get a Norfolk police officer fired for the crime of supporting Kyle Rittenhouse.

Lieutenant William K. Kelly III sent Rittenhouse a $25 donation and an encouraging note that read: "God bless. Thank you for your courage. Keep your head up. You’ve done nothing wrong."

Kelly was ultimately fired from the Norfolk Police Department after Jones’s public campaign against him.

Rittenhouse was later acquitted of all charges by a Wisconsin jury.

But that didn’t matter to Jones.

"We have to get to the bottom of this reported conduct, which is utterly disgusting," Jones said about the police officer at the time. "If these allegations are true, Officer Kelly must resign from the Norfolk Police Department immediately."

"Should he not resign, he must be terminated," Jones continued.

So Jones thinks a police officer should lose his job for donating $25 to someone who was later acquitted of all charges – and Kelly actually was fired.

But a Democrat candidate joking about murdering Republican politicians and their children?

That’s apparently no big deal to the Democrat Party.

Authoritarian leftists reveal their true nature after Charlie Kirk’s assassination

Look, here’s what’s really happening.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk last month exposed exactly who some of these people really are.

Conservative Christians watched in horror as leftists celebrated the murder of one of the most beloved figures in the America First movement.

Kirk was gunned down by a sniper while speaking to college students at Utah Valley University on September 10.

The response from many on the radical left wasn’t condemnation – it was barely concealed glee.

And now we have a purportedly mainstream Democrat candidate for statewide office openly fantasizing about murdering more Republicans.

"This is why Charlie Kirk died," noted data analyst Jennica Pounds. "Do not let this go."

Words are one thing and a legal jury hasn’t even been empaneled yet on who is guilty in the assasination of Charlie Kirk, or who and what spurred them on.

The individual or individuals who plot violence are the ones responsible, ultimately.

But wave of political violence has crashed into conservatives in recent years.

Waves aren’t formed in a vacuum, they require wind blowing over a stretch of ocean.

Democrats sure seem to be normalizing violence against conservatives when they screech hot air at crowds of their supporters who seem to believe they’re the victims.

The Left has "released a whirlwind” to paraphrase Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price,” Schumer barked shortly before a would-be assassin rolled up to Brett Kavanaugh’s house intent on killing the Supreme over the Dobbs decision.

Another case of confession through projection? It’s getting harder and harder to argue against it.

Virginia Democrats refuse to disavow

Here’s the most telling part of this whole story.

Virginia Democrats had every opportunity to distance themselves from Jones after his violent fantasies became public.

Instead, many Democrats criticized Jones but refused to withdraw their endorsements.

Democrat gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger condemned Jones’s comments but stopped short of calling for him to drop out.

"After learning of these comments earlier today, I spoke frankly with Jay about my disgust with what he had said and texted," Spanberger said. "I made clear to Jay that he must fully take responsibility for his words."

Even some Virginia Democrats like Senator Mark Warner called the comments "appalling" and "unacceptable."

Former Department of Energy nuclear scientist Matt Van Swol summed up the situation perfectly: "The fact that the Democratic Party believes that endorsing someone who fantasizes about the murder of his political opponent’s children… …is BETTER than letting a Republican win Tells you everything you need to know about Democrats today."

But the real test will be whether Virginia Democrats actually force Jones off the ticket or just offer meaningless words of condemnation.

"I don’t know where we go from here," he added.

Virginia Republicans put Democrat extremism under the spotlight

Republican candidate Winsome Earle-Sears is surging in her race for Virginia Governor against Abigail Spanberger.

A recent poll showed Earle-Sears building momentum – and that was before the news about Jones’s murder fantasies broke.

Now Republicans have a powerful new campaign ad highlighting the extreme nature of today’s Democrat Party.

The ad drives home a simple message: Do you really want to put violent radicals in charge of Virginia’s government?

It’s a question every Virginia voter should be asking themselves.

The lesson from the Cold War applies to today’s Democrats

Diplomat George Kennan wrote about dealing with Communists during the Cold War in his famous 1947 essay "The Sources of Soviet Conduct."

His advice applies perfectly to today’s Democrat Party.

"[T]here can never be on Moscow’s side any sincere assumption of a community of aims between the Soviet Union and powers which are regarded as capitalist," Kennan warned.

He explained that even when Communists signed peace treaties, "this is to be regarded as a tactical manoeuvre permissible in dealing with the enemy (who is without honor) and should be taken in the spirit of caveat emptor."

The same principle seems to apply to many modern Democrat leaders.

Their party might eventually force Jones off the ticket for electoral reasons.

But that would just be a "tactical manoeuvre" to fool voters.

Every patriot would do well to be vigilant always.  Even more so when political leaders tell you they want to use violence against their political opponents.

The only question is whether Virginia voters will reward this extremism at the ballot box, or reject the death march that authoritarians, whatever their party affiliation, appear hellbent on forcing anyone who disagrees with them upon.
