Every time Kamala Harris opens her mouth a new controversy falls out.
Her latest public pronouncement proves why Democrats increasingly think she would be a disastrous pick for higher office.
And after she started talking about Al Sharpton her political career threatened to finally implode.
Kamala Harris was speaking at the National Action Network convention when she decided to offer a tanker load of sugary sweet praise for bigoted and anti-Semitic activist Al Sharpton.
“I thank you on behalf of all of us, everyone, for all that you do, and all that you are,” Harris gushed. “And as I have said in public and in private many times, Rev, no matter where you are, you are always a voice of truth, speaking about the importance of justice for all people, you are part of the conscience of our country, and I thank you for all that you do.”
Ironically, making an appearance on stage at that conference and figuratively kissing Sharpton’s ring has become something of a rite of passage for Democrat politicians rising through the ranks.
While Sharpton is revered as a civil rights movement elder, many say in reality he’s one of the most toxic figures in American politics.
Clear back in 1987 Sharpton helped push the Tawana Brawley hoax in 1987.
It was later discovered that Brawley had fabricated her rape and sexual assault claims against four white men.
A few years later—in 1991—Sharpton was back in the hot seat for helping fan the flames for the Crown Heights race riots.
The destructive movement was sparked after a Jewish man was driving a car in a procession when he was t-boned at an intersection.
The crash caused the Jewish man’s car to hit a seven-year-old Guyanese boy who died from his injuries.
That resulted in days of rioting as black residents attacked Jewish businesses.
A 29-year-old student from Australia was killed by a group of black men who shouted “kill the jew” as they stabbed him.
Sharpton responded to Rosenbaum’s death by leading a march where fanned the violent hatred with an anti-Semitic speech.
“If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house,” Sharpton shouted to the crowd.
“The world will tell us he was killed by accident. Yes, it was a social accident . . . It’s an accident to allow an apartheid ambulance service in the middle of Crown Heights . . . Talk about how Oppenheimer in South Africa sends diamonds straight to Tel Aviv and deals with the diamond merchants right here in Crown Heights,” he continued. “The issue is not anti-Semitism; the issue is apartheid . . . All we want to say is what Jesus said: If you offend one of these little ones, you got to pay for it. No compromise, no meetings, no kaffe klatsch, no skinnin’ and grinnin’. Pay for your deeds.”
Harris’ lavish praise for Sharpton highlights the radical left’s core commitment to racist ideals.
And if Harris runs for President she will have to explain her support of Sharpton’s claims to millions of decent Americans.
