Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and “The Squad” got hit with a harsh reality check they may never recover from

AOC’s participation in one cringe-inducing PR stunt will be forever immortalized in embarrassing video footage.

Democrats are fighting an uphill battle as they continue to double down on everything the American people have rejected while attacking Donald Trump’s popular America First agenda.

With little else to offer the American people, they’ve taken their pandering to a whole new level.

But Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and “The Squad” got hit with a harsh reality check they may never recover from.

Groundswell

The 2024 Presidential election marked what could very well prove to be a pivotal turning point in American history, if we don’t squander it.

For the first time in American history, neither the ruling class nor their media allies had exclusive control over the national discourse – the American people did.

With the rise of independent media and free speech-centric platforms like X and Rumble, the establishment’s decades-old political machine proved to be on the verge of obsoletion.

And as a result, President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and America First candidates in general thrived, while former Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats imploded despite a full-court press from their “mainstream” media and Hollywood allies.

Now, despite being totally unimaginable just a few short years ago, Trump and the America First movement are not only reshaping American politics but also the culture.

According to a recent poll conducted by CBS News, 56% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 approve of the job President Trump has done in his first months in office.

To put that in context, 47% of 18 to 29-year-olds voted for Trump in 2024, which marked a significant improvement from the 36% who voted for him in 2020.

Put simply, Democrats aren’t cool anymore – the America First movement is.

And unfortunately for Democrats, they continue to be their own worst enemy.

Missing the point

You see, the lesson Democrats took from the 2024 election was not that their message and constant onslaughts against anyone who dared disagree with their extreme agenda were major turn-offs for most Americans, but that they simply didn’t engage enough with podcasts and social media.

Case in point, Democrats recently called in – ie. paid a large sum of money to – TikTok “influencer” Sulhee Jessica Woo to create what they hoped would be a viral social media video in which Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Katherine Clark (D-MA), Judy Chu (D-CA), and Susie Lee (D-NV) were featured in the popular “choose your fighter” meme based on the 2001 video game Super Smash Bros. Melee.

As the Democrat Congresswomen popped on the screen one at a time, bouncing back and forth in “combat poses,” Woo included attributes for each.

For example, Ocasio-Cortez was lauded as “youngest woman and Latina elected to the House” and a “Trekkie,” a term for obsessed Star Trek fans, while Crockett was described as “not a morning person.”

But the video ended up going viral for all the wrong reasons.

Americans from across the political spectrum took to social media to mock the video as a cringe-inducing example of Democrats once again being try-hards.

Even Democrats’ media allies found the video absurd, with CNN’s Abby Phillip openly laughing at just how ridiculous her Party’s supposed “leaders” look.

“I mean, there is, like, serious stuff happening in this country, but that seems to be just inviting ridicule,” Phillip said.

“I don’t get it,” she added. “Like, I don’t get it. I mean, maybe you will get 7 million eyeballs. But like, what is the point?”

Pedal to the metal

CNN’s token Republican, Scott Jennings, also didn’t hold back, saying the video was “the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.”

He also let Democrats in on a little secret – spending more time talking nonsense on podcasts and making cringe-inducing social media videos won’t help increase their approval ratings amongst Americans, which a recent Quinnipiac poll pegged at just 21% for Congressional Democrats, if they simply continue pushing the same unpopular, extreme left-wing agenda.

“Scrambling for new social media and communication strategies is not a replacement for fixing what’s actually wrong,” Jennings explained. “Your party has a 21 percent approval rating right now, Congressional Democrats.”

Ultimately, as fun as Democrats’ implosion has been to watch, the last thing the America First movement needs to do right now is allow themselves to fall into the trap of believing the game has been won.

Yes, the political and cultural tides are turning, and Democrats are seemingly just spinning their tires as the America First movement continues gaining momentum.

But none of it matters without results – real, tangible results.

And so now more than ever before, it’s imperative that we hold the Trump administration to their promises to deliver for working class Americans.

Otherwise, the pendulum will swing back even harder.
