Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the most radical, outspoken member of Congress.
She’s known for creating controversy.
But Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez instantly regretted making this major blunder that landed her in hot water.
The Democrat Party is waging a war against law-enforcement officers.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the leader of the Democrats’ “defund the police” movement, but her role as the head cheerleader is coming back to haunt her in a huge way.
A subway station in New York City, where Ocasio-Cortez lives, was recently rocked by a terrorist attack after a black nationalist threw two smoke grenades and fired off 33 shots.
Even though 29 people were injured, no one was killed after the shooter’s gun jammed.
Of course, the New York City Subway has been a hotbed for the “defund the police” movement.
Over the past decade, crime has skyrocketed on the subway system, with one of the biggest problems being criminals skipping out on paying their fares to get a free ride.
The subway is now the most dangerous it’s been since the 1970s.
But a letter from 2019 just surfaced that shows Ocasio-Cortez played a role in removing police protections from the subway.
Ocasio-Cortez demanded then-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo not hire 500 new police officers to protect subway passengers from criminals.
Ocasio-Cortez said in a social media post about the letter that “punishing the poor does not create a safer environment. Instead it threatens the very foundation of our community. That is why my New York colleagues and I wrote a letter to @NYGovCuomo asking him to help put an end to MTA’s dangerous policing policy.”
Because of “historic racial disparities in enforcement,” the letter argued, more police officers on the subway would harm “communities of color.”
Ocasio-Cortez believes police enforcing the law on the subway is somehow harming minorities, which is why she prefers to allow criminals to run free on the subway for racial justice reasons.
“We are urging the MTA (agency in charge of the subway) to divest from this current model of criminalization,” the letter added.
The letter couldn’t help but attack the police.
“Recent social media posts showing police officers brutalizing individuals in our subway demonstrates the need to focus on policing issues in the MTA system,” the letter continued.
Ultimately, the plan to hire 500 new police officers was stopped by the pandemic.
In Democrat-controlled cities like New York, officials have disrespected law enforcement and allowed criminals to run rampant in the streets.
And Americans are suffering once again from the disastrous policies of socialists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who hate law enforcement.
