Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) desperately wants to appear as the face of the anti-Trump resistance.
Now, she is stooping to a new low by trying to steal the media spotlight.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just made one absurd public stunt that should leave Pam Bondi ready for war.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sends letter to Pam Bondi trying to troll Tom Homan
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants nothing more than endless media attention as she tries to lead the resistance against President Trump’s plan for mass deportations.
Her efforts to help illegal aliens avoid being deported put her on a crossroads with Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan.
But Ocasio-Cortez’s actions went far beyond a simple disagreement on policy, however.
Homan noted that he had to inquire with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to determine whether or not what the New York Democrat was doing had violated federal law.
Following weeks of the story simmering down, Ocasio-Cortez desperately wanted to reignite the fire she had started by writing a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi asking if the DOJ ever opened an investigation into her.
“I write to request clarity on whether the Department of Justice (DOJ) has yielded to political pressure and attempts to weaponize the agency against elected officials whose speech they disagree with,” penned Ocasio-Cortez.
Representative Ocasio-Cortez wanted to know if Homan was actively trying to throw her in jail for helping illegal aliens avoid deportation.
“Over the past two weeks, ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan has gone on multiple forums threatening political prosecution against me, citing resources I distributed informing my constituents and the American public of their constitutional and legal rights,” her letter continued.
In several Fox News interviews, Homan clarified that he wasn’t sure what the legal technicalities were surrounding a webinar hosted by Ocasio-Cortez’s office and whether or not she had violated federal law by interfering with law enforcement.
AOC letter demands update on potential criminal charges
“We all know what she’s up to. She wants to tell these people how to evade arrest, how to evade ICE, and we still got child predators we’re looking for in New York and her district,” Homan explained to Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“People convicted of child sex crimes, people who’ve been convicted of rape, and she wants to say she’s educating them in constitutional rights,” he continued.
Hannity did note to Homan that if Ocasio-Cortez was actually arrested for her interference with ICE arrests, this could become a debate on whether or not her behavior was protected speech under the First Amendment.
Homan admitted that this could be true, emphasizing why he was only asking the DOJ for clarity on this situation.
He explained to Hannity that he was not a lawyer, but his current position and assignment from Trump was to see that immigration law was completely enforced, hence why he felt obligated to ask the Justice Department whether or not Ocasio-Cortez was engaging in criminal behavior.
“But at what point do you cross the line on saying you’re educating people versus you’re teaching them how to evade ICE arrest?” Homan asked Hannity.
“So I’ve asked that question to the Department of Justice for clear guidance so I can share that with the officers of ICE,” he added.
“So we’re looking for that clear direction so we can start taking action on people that want to evade, who want to help educate these people to evade ICE, so hopefully any day now we get that guidance sent out to the field,” concluded Trump’s Border Czar.
