Ocasio-Cortez portrayed herself as a champion of the common American at an event that only the richest and most privileged in America could attend.
How she did was utterly vapid.
And the hypocrisy of Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow upscale socialists was on full display.
Now, AOC’s fame obsession may end up costing Democrats.
They’re working on finalizing the specifics of a $3.5 trillion-dollar Green New Deal and a socialist welfare spending bill.
Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are leading the moderate wing of the debate, while socialist Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez head up the far-left faction in Congress.
The moderate side is pushing for a bill with lower spending and fewer tax hikes.
The far-left side believes that $3.5 trillion is already a compromise from the $6 trillion bill they initially pushed.
But Ocasio-Cortez made herself look like a fool when she showed up at the Met Gala – which costs $30,000 per ticket – wearing a dress emblazoned with the phrase “tax the rich.”

Aside from Ocasio-Cortez, the Met Gala was full of celebrities wearing extravagant outfits during their red carpet appearance with the media.
Ocasio-Cortez showing up in a “tax the rich” dress at an event that costs $30,000 just to get in the door is the type of hypocrisy Americans find disgusting in politics.
And her political career could be over if it costs Democrats their massive spending bills.
