Socialist Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) brought true cluelessness to Capitol Hill.
Now this rising star’s days as a Congresswoman could be numbered.
And the reason will leave you seething.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez swept into Congress in 2019 representing New York’s 14th district.
She is “the gift that keeps on giving — to conservative reporters and commentators,” according to writer Scott Morefield. “That’s because just about everything that comes out of the young congresswoman-elect’s mouth is either patently untrue, ridiculously unworkable, unintentionally hilarious, or ripped straight from the pages of Das Kapital (in which case it’s all of the above).”
In other words, she might just be as bad as Joe Biden — and Democrats seem determined to outdo themselves by coming up with one unimaginably awful candidate after the next.
For obvious reasons, a CNN poll discovered that 75% of Americans don’t want to suffer through another term with Joe Biden at the helm.
A New York Times/Siena poll also found that 64% of Democrats want the Party to come up with a different option in 2024.
Unfortunately, based on how things are shaping up, it looks like their next nominee might be different, but certainly not better.
Michael Starr Hopkins, a Democrat Party Strategist, recently published an op-ed in The Hill arguing that his Party’s best bet to maintain control of the White House is to nominate Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for president in 2024.
He claims as a “movement candidate” she is the only leftist who can mobilize the Democrats’ base to turn out en masse on election day.
“She’s the voice of a movement that began after the banks were bailed out by the government, while homeowners were left to default,” Hopkins claimed. “The simplicity with which she talks about everyday struggles hints that she’s not just a persona for consumption. She isn’t beholden to corporations, is a prodigious small-dollar fundraiser, and could out-Trump Trump like no other politician has been able to.”
He also argues that her age will give her an advantage.
She will be turning 35-years-old in October 2024, which means she will just barely meet the age requirement to run as president.
“Ocasio-Cortez represents the possibilities and opportunities that make our country great,” Hopkins declared. “Where else could a 29-year-old bartender upset a political heavyweight and become a symbol for her generation? AOC was never supposed to win her race. Few gave her a chance, but a funny thing happened: Voters loved her honesty, youth and humble beginnings.”
“Voters were sick of career politicians who rarely came back to their districts,” he added. “So, they voted Joe Crowley out and AOC in. That wasn’t luck, that was fate. In a Democratic Party that looks more like a Golden Girls spin-off than a reflection of our rich diversity, AOC has become the face of a generation.”
Finally, he claimed she’s best positioned to face off against Donald Trump on social media. (Honestly, sharing her cluelessness on social media might just be her only hard skill.)
“In the age of social media and quick sound bites, no Democrat is more prepared to embarrass a bully like Donald Trump,” Hopkins said.
It turned out the unbelievably awful trainwreck America is living through right now with Joe Biden in office isn’t an accident.
Apparently, this type of “leadership” is exactly what advisors like Hopkins are going for when they try to figure out what voters want.
It seems likely if voters are unhappy with Joe Biden in charge, they would hate having the ever-clueless Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in office.
