Alina Habba just destroyed this Mayor trying to clap back at her for brutal humiliation

Amid federal lawsuit rumors over her arrest, then release of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Alina Habba responded and humiliated the Democrat politician by turning his ICE arrest stunt into a powerful display of transparency that completely backfired on him.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka thought he could score political points by causing chaos at an ICE facility.

But Trump’s attorney had other plans.

And Alina Habba just destroyed one Democrat mayor with a move that left him completely humiliated.

Mayor Baraka’s arrest at ICE facility turns into a complete disaster

Democrat politicians have been scrambling to resist President Donald Trump’s deportation efforts since he took office.

They’ve tried everything from sanctuary city policies to outright defiance of federal immigration law.

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka decided to take his resistance to the next level when he showed up unannounced at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in New Jersey last month.

What happened next was exactly what you’d expect from a Democrat politician trying to make a scene.

Baraka allegedly engaged in "riot-like conduct" during his unauthorized entry into the federal facility.

The mayor was promptly arrested on a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge.

But here’s where things get interesting.

Instead of becoming a martyr for the anti-Trump resistance, Baraka’s arrest turned into a complete embarrassment.

Within two weeks, Habba’s office moved to drop all charges against the Newark mayor.

Rather than letting Baraka claim victory, Habba delivered a masterstroke that left the mayor looking foolish.

Her announcement came with a twist that completely flipped the script on Baraka’s political theater.

Alina Habba turns the tables on grandstanding mayor

"After extensive consideration, we have agreed to dismiss Mayor Baraka’s misdemeanor charge of trespass," Habba announced in a statement posted on X Monday evening.

The dismissal wasn’t an act of mercy.

It was a power move that left Baraka looking foolish.

"In the spirit of public interest, I have invited the mayor to tour Delaney Hall," Habba continued. "The government has nothing to hide at this facility, and I will personally accompany the mayor so he can see that firsthand."

Talk about calling someone’s bluff.

Baraka was clearly hoping to get arrested so he could claim he was being persecuted for standing up to Trump’s immigration policies.

Instead, Habba offered him exactly what he claimed to want – a chance to see what was actually happening at the facility.

The invitation exposed Baraka’s arrest for what it really was: a cheap political stunt designed to generate headlines and rally his base.

If the mayor was genuinely concerned about conditions at the detention center, he would have accepted the invitation for a proper tour.

But that wouldn’t have given him the photo op and news coverage he was really after.

Judge Andre Espinosa chose Baraka’s side and smeared Habba’s handling of the case during a hearing that lasted several minutes.

Espinosa suggested it was “embarrassing” to arrest a public figure only to abandon the case days later.

Mayor plans lawsuit after his stunt backfires

But now that his arrest didn’t turn him into the resistance hero he was hoping to become, Baraka is reportedly planning to sue the federal government.

According to reports filed on Tuesday, Baraka has now sued Alina Habba and a DHS agent for "false arrest and malicious prosecution."

This is typical behavior from Democrat politicians who can’t accept that their political stunts don’t always work out the way they planned.

Habba responded to news of the pending lawsuit in a post to X Tuesday writing, “Shocking” leak from Mayor Baraka’s team: He is planning to sue the Feds. My advice to the mayor – feel free to join me in prioritizing violent crime and public safety. Far better use of time for the great citizens of New Jersey.”

Baraka thought he could score easy political points by getting arrested at an ICE facility.

Instead, he got caught in his own trap when the Trump administration called his bluff.

Now he’s doubling down with a lawsuit that will likely go nowhere but will keep his name in the headlines for a few more news cycles.

The whole episode perfectly illustrates how far Democrat politicians will go when they can’t win policy debates on the merits.

Instead of working through proper channels, they resort to publicity stunts and legal theatrics designed to generate headlines.

But sometimes those calculated moves backfire spectacularly, as Baraka discovered when Habba turned his arrest into an opportunity to showcase government transparency.

The Trump administration’s handling of this case should serve as a warning to other Democrat mayors who think they can interfere with federal immigration enforcement.

You might get the attention you’re looking for, but it might not be the kind you wanted.
