All eyes are on Merrick Garland after Jim Jordan just backed him into a corner with this one scary decision

Jim Jordan just put Merrick Garland on blast by forcing him to make a big decision about his attempts to hide a bombshell piece of evidence hidden from Congress.

And Garland’s only two options spell bad news for the Democrats.

A major stress vector for the Left has been the investigation into President Joe Biden for stealing classified documents after serving as Barack Obama’s Vice President.

Special Counsel Robert Hur has been the point man for the investigation, and whenever any information came out publicly, it caused some serious headaches for the Democrats.

In his report, Hur established that then-VP Biden had willfully taken and kept classified documents, but said that he did not recommend a lawsuit against the President.

He believed that no jury would bring themselves to convict President Biden, who is 82 years old, arguing that he is just an old man who struggles to remember things.

This has been the center of controversy due to the push by Democrats to jail former President Donald Trump on the same grounds while trying to give no attention to the Hur investigation.

One of the biggest moments of Hur’s investigation was a two-day recorded interview with President Biden, which gave America and the world a real insight into how poor Biden’s memory has gotten.

During the interview, Biden completely forgot the year that his son Beau had died, and what years he served as Vice President.

Jordan tags in again after Biden DOJ refuses to comply

Months after the interview, with no access to the recordings, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James Comer (R-KY) joined House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) in issuing a subpoena to Attorney General Merrick Garland for the audio recordings.

As expected, Garland completely ignored the subpoenas from Congress, and instead sent over written transcriptions of the interview with President Biden and his ghost writer Mark Zwonitzer.

But Garland is learning that he cannot hide forever because he is now facing being held in criminal contempt of Congress unless he surrenders the subpoenaed recordings.

“Your response to the subpoenas remains inadequate, suggesting that you are withholding records for partisan purposes and to avoid political embarrassment for President Biden,” declared Congressmen Jordan and Comer.

The Committee Chairs gave a ten day window to Garland to deliver the audio recordings or be held in contempt.

Attorney General gets 10 days

“If the Department continues to withhold materials responsive to the Committees’ subpoenas – namely, the audio recordings of Special Counsel Hur’s interviews with President Biden and Mr. Zwonitzer – we will have no choice but to invoke contempt of Congress proceedings,” they stated.

Ever since the moment that Hur’s report was released, Democrats and the mainstream media began working overtime to put out the fire, mostly by making false claims that it was a coordinated partisan smear campaign, or that it was completely inaccurate.

The White House even responded to Hur’s report by claiming that its findings on Joe Biden’s memory were “flatly wrong” and even called them “inappropriate.”

The only way to know if Hur was exaggerating, or completely mischaracterizing Biden’s memory would be to release the audio recordings.

Then everyone would know the exact truth, something that the Justice Department seems to not want.

They are doing their best to keep the audio recordings hidden.

Carlos Uriarte, Assistant Attorney General to Merrick Garland, wrote a letter to both Jordan and Comer that stated they plan to continue refusing to comply with their subpoena, arguing that the contents would politically damage the President.

Uriarte insisted that any information he believed that they needed could be found in the written transcripts.

He argued that the “Committees’ interests may not be in receiving information in service of legitimate oversight or investigatory functions, but to serve political purposes that should have no role in the treatment of law enforcement files.”

While the written transcripts of Biden forgetting when he was Vice President, or when his son had died are damning revelations on their own, the audio recordings of his interview would let the American people have their first, unfiltered view of the extent of Biden’s cognitive decline.
