Joe Biden is sputtering along as president.
He has botched one crisis after another.
And it’s dawning on Democrats that despite the bootlick press operations’ best efforts to cover for it, Americans are concerned that Joe Biden is in cognitive decline.
There was a marked difference in his speech from 2019 to the general election in 2020, and it’s only gotten worse.
The so-called mainstream media blamed Biden’s childhood stutter, which is absurd.
And it turns out that the American people are not buying it.
According to a Yahoo/YouGov poll, three out of four Americans are “concerned” about Biden’s mental health.
The poll showed that 39% of respondents were “very concerned”; another 21% were “somewhat concerned”; 17% were “slightly concerned.”
That means that 77% of people polled have concerns about Biden’s mental acuity.
The number was even worse among independents; 82% of them showed concern for his mental health.
The bad news didn’t stop there for the Democrats.
A plurality of respondents, 49% of people polled, said that Biden lacked competence, and only 35% felt he had the competence to do the job.
The Democrats are in deep trouble going into 2024 with numbers like that.
They don’t really want Biden to run again, but he said it was his “intention” to do so, and the party has a weak bench behind him.
Congressman Dean Phillips, a Democrat from Minnesota, said the quiet part out loud and told POLITICO, “Nobody wants to be the one to do something that would undermine the chances of a Democratic victory in 2024…Yet in quiet rooms the conversation is just the opposite — we could be at a higher risk if this path is cleared.”
Kamala Harris has been a complete flop in her role as Vice President, which was predictable based on her abysmal showing in the Democratic Primary.
She dropped out of the race before having to suffer the humiliation of getting crushed in her home state of California.
Harris also insinuated that Biden was a racist, and suggested he should drop out of the race after sexual assault allegations from former staffer Tara Reade surfaced.
When Harris was questioned by Stephen Colbert about her hardball tactics in the primary, she just cackled and squealed, “It was a debate.”
And the shine is off Pete Buttigieg, who has tanked his career with a terrible run as Transportation Secretary.
The Democrats almost need Biden to run again, but more of the American people than they thought are skeptical of his ability to do the job already, much less in a second term.
