Mitt Romney has been a thorn in Donald Trump’s side since he first ran for President in 2016.
But Mitt Romney sees the writing on the wall.
And Americans were stunned when Mitt Romney admitted this one truth about Donald Trump.
J.D. Vance catapulted to victory in the recent Ohio Republican Primary for U.S. Senate after Donald Trump endorsed his campaign in the days leading up to the election.
Vance languished in the middle of the pack in a crowded Primary field where multiple candidates tried to claim they were the Trump candidate.
But after Trump threw his support behind Vance, he catapulted from the middle of the pack to the very top of the pack.
Establishment Republicans in the Swamp hoped Vance would lose in order to allow RINOs such as McConnell and Romney to take back control of the GOP from Donald Trump’s supporters so they can boot him out of the Party forever.
Ohio State Senator Matt Dolan was the preferred candidate of the establishment.
Dolan, whose family changed the name of the Cleveland Indians to the Guardians after pressure from the woke Left, also opposed legislation outlawing abortion once a doctor could detect a heartbeat.
But when the votes were counted, Vance won by 9 points, with RINO Matt Dolan finishing a distant third.
POLITICO interviewed Mitt Romney after Vance’s win, where he shockingly admitted that Donald Trump not only was the dominant force in the GOP, but that the nomination was his for the taking if he wanted it in 2024.
POLITICO reports:
And while Romney twice voted to convict Trump in impeachment trials, speaking out against him more than any other sitting GOP senator, the Utah Republican also concluded that anyone who argues the former president is fading away is not tethered to reality.
“I don’t delude myself into thinking I have a big swath of the Republican Party,” Romney said in a Wednesday interview. “It’s hard to imagine anything that would derail his support. So if he wants to become the nominee in ‘24, I think he’s very likely to achieve that.”
Republicans from both wings of the GOP in Congress all agreed that Donald Trump’s endorsement played a key role in the outcome of the Senate Primary in Ohio.
“There’s never been an endorsement in American history that has the political punch that President Trump’s endorsement has,” conservative Congressman Jim Jordan stated.
“I told you the endorsement was going to matter. And it did,” retiring Ohio RINO Senator Rob Portman admitted. “He has a very high approval rating among Republican Primary voters.”
Donald Trump’s decision to run for President will likely be based on the results from the Primary season.
Trump’s endorsement catapulting J.D. Vance to victory in Ohio will make a 2024 campaign more likely.
Establishment Republicans like Mitt Romney realize this fact.
And they can’t stand it.
