Two of the biggest names in Florida right now are, “DeSantis,” and “Disney.”
Those two names have been in a heated political war in the Sunshine State for more than a year now.
But it might be America’s Governor who has the last laugh – as he’s now Disney’s new landlord.
Ron DeSantis’ bold agenda for Florida since taking the reigns as Governor has made him popular with Sunshine State residents and conservatives across the country.
As America’s Governor has shot up the GOP’s rising star charts, he’s drawn the ire of Democrat politicians, woke celebrities and the corporate-controlled media conglomerates, including Disney.
Disney picked a losing fight with DeSantis over one of the Governor’s signature accomplishments – restoring parental rights in government-run schools.
In the wake of that battle Disney was forced to change CEO’s after Gov. DeSantis convinced the state legislature to take away Disney’s self-governing status in the state – costing them untold millions of dollars.
And following his landslide re-election victory, DeSantis is starting his second term as Governor of the Sunshine State scoring yet another victory over Disney.
The Florida House and Senate have just voted to give Gov. Ron DeSantis control over the new tax district in the Orlando area that is occupied by Disney.
What has long been known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District will be renamed the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.
DeSantis can pick all the members of the board that will oversee the tax district – previously all board members in the district had close ties and were friendly to Disney’s interests.
“This is obviously now going to be controlled by the state of Florida, which is no longer self-governing for them,” DeSantis said at a press conference. “So, there’s a new sheriff in town, and that’s just the way it’s going to be.”
The New York Post reported the new framework will also bar the company from using state tax dollars to fund advertising.
The Sunshine State passed Gov. DeSantis’ Parental Choice in Education Act about one year ago.
The bill barred any teaching of sexually mature subjects to students in kindergarten thru third grade.
It also had protections for parents, forcing schools to alert them in cases such as pregnancy or gender identity changes.
However, Left-wing politicians, the corporate-controlled media, Hollywood and even giant mega-corporations tried to kill the bill and DeSantis’ political future.
Big Media labeled it the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Woke radicals flocked to social media, posting videos of themselves repeatedly saying the word, “gay,” as though it would change DeSantis’ mind.
This despite the fact, “don’t say gay,” was nowhere to be found in the wording of the legislation.
Disney vowed to fight the governor over the new law.
They lost and Disney’s stock tumbled like Goofy down a ski slope as Conservatives boycotted movies, shows and theme parks.
And now that Ron DeSantis is effectively Disney’s new landlord, Disney may want to consider actually becoming more family friendly going forward.
