The top Biden political hatchet man has taken abusing his position to go after conservatives to a whole new level.
But an Obama official just dropped a truth bomb on Merrick Garland that caught everyone by surprise.
Abortion is a sacred right within the Democrat Party.
So naturally, Democrats erupted into a frenzy after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Democrats from Joe Biden on down have viciously attacked pro-Life Americans.
But Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland really has it out for them.
Pro-Life activists were instrumental in scuttling then President Barack Obamas attempt to install Garland on the Supreme Court following the Death of Antonin Scalia in 2016.
Now, as Attorney General, he’s embarked on an unprecedented campaign of reprisal, sending his DOJ goons after pro-Lifers using the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act) which makes it a federal crime to interfere with anyone providing an abortion or anyone seeking an abortion.
Violating the FACE Act, which makes it a federal crime to interfere with anyone providing an abortion or anyone seeking an abortion, carries a sentence of up to 11 years in federal prison.
Merrick Garland’s Justice Department has charged at least 16 pro-Life activists with violating the FACE Act.
Roger Severino, who worked in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division under George W. Bush and Barack Obama, told the Daily Caller that Garland is “weaponizing” the law to shut down pro-Life activists.
Previously, first-time offenders faced a maximum of six months in jail.
But now they’re facing up to 11 years in prison, which Severino called “excessive.”
Severino said that he’s “never heard of a charge being so excessive” as the 11-year maximum prison sentence and $350,000 fine sought by Merrick Garland’s Justice Department for violating the FACE Act.
“This is law enforcement run amok,” Severino said. “The FACE Act had always been enforced very rarely, because the pro-Life movement is a movement of peace.”
“All of a sudden, they are inventing cases and doing sham prosecutions in an Election Year for purely political purposes to go after their political enemies,” Severino added.
The law doesn’t just apply to abortion clinics.
It’s also supposed to protect crisis pregnancy centers and other places of worships from pro-abortion terrorists.
However, Biden is turning a blind eye to the 33 churches and 54 pro-Life pregnancy centers the Catholic News Service reports have been attacked this year.
Not a single charge has been levied against anyone for the destruction of pro-Life centers.
Former Homeland Security official under Donald Trump Ken Cuccinelli called Garland’s move an act of political vengeance.
“This has nothing to do with public safety,” Cuccinelli said. “This is political virtue signaling to the radical-Left base that has control of this administration.”
Biden and Garland are not even trying to hide the fact that they’re using federal agencies to go after their political enemies.
This will backfire in a major way during the Midterm elections.
“I think it will thoroughly backfire on them. I can’t think of a way they’ll get one more vote because they arrest these people, but I guarantee you, a lot more pro-Lifers will come out than might otherwise have for the Midterm elections,” Cuccinelli explained.
Merrick Garland is going after conservatives of every stripe.
But if Republicans take back Congress on November 8, Merrick Garland will likely find himself under investigation if not impeached.
