New York Governor Andrew Cuomo can’t stand criticism of his disastrous coronavirus response.
After months of fawning press coverage, the reality is becoming clear and paints a different – darker – picture altogether of how Cuomo’s leadership failed New Yorkers.
And Andrew Cuomo is so terrified of what this Fox News reporter has to say he just did the unthinkable.
New York’s handling of the coronavirus was a complete disaster.
After first downplaying the virus in early March, Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio were encouraging New Yorkers to continue going about their lives even while other states were telling folks to stay home.
Then, once it was clear the virus took hold, Cuomo issued a now infamous executive order forcing nursing homes to take in coronavirus patients.
The decision was a deadly one.
One New York State Senator has contended the true nursing home death toll is shrouded in mystery as Cuomo and his administration worked to cover-up the full extent of the catastrophic loss of life.
Fox News Meteorologist Janice Dean lost both of her in-laws in New York nursing homes to coronavirus.
Dean is now an outspoken critic of Cuomo’s deadly decision and was set to testify before the New York State Assembly about her belief that Cuomo is directly responsible for the deaths of her in-laws and thousands of other elderly New Yorkers.
But Dean joined Tucker Carlson to explain that on the day she was supposed to testify, her invitation to speak was revoked.
“I was supposed to be on the list. I actually filled out all the paperwork and sent the letter to all the lawmakers, I believe, July 28, a few days before the first hearing. They told me they couldn’t get me on that day, last Monday, but that I would be on today. I had several emails saying that that was happening. Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (R) was the one that was emailing me back and forth and saying that he was talking to the chair and that the chair said, absolutely, she’ll get her day on August the 10, today. And then, I was supposed to hear something over the weekend, I never did, and I was told that I was taken off the list,” Dean stated.
Dean added the decision to revoke her permission to testify could only have come from Governor Cuomo.
“I can only guess at this point. I think it went higher than the chair. I think that it was Andrew Cuomo or his administration that decided that they didn’t want my voice to be heard. And that’s really unfortunate,” Dean added.
Governor Cuomo doesn’t believe there needs to be any independent investigation into nursing home deaths in New York because his administration already performed one and cleared Cuomo.
Critics like Dean contend this is clearly a cover-up.
