The political temperature in this country has reached a boiling point.
Conservative figures are being targeted with assassination attempts and violent attacks at an alarming rate.
And Democrat congressional candidate Stefany Shaheen just gave voters an answer that should disqualify her from office.
New Hampshire Democrat dodges basic question about political violence
A bombshell video emerged showing Stefany Shaheen, the Democrat running for Congress in New Hampshire’s First District, walking away from cameras rather than condemning political violence.
Shaheen is the daughter of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen and a former Portsmouth city councilor who launched her congressional campaign in May.
When approached by a questioner at a recent event, Shaheen was asked a simple question that any decent person should be able to answer without hesitation.
"Do you condemn political violence?" the questioner asked. "That seems like a pretty simple question, ma’am."
Shaheen’s response revealed everything voters need to know about today’s Democrat Party.
"I hope you have a great night," she replied, continuing to walk toward her vehicle.
The questioner pressed further with an even more basic moral question: "Is murdering someone because of their politics wrong? Is murder socially unacceptable?"
Shaheen said nothing.
She climbed into her car and drove away in complete silence rather than state the obvious – that killing people over their political beliefs is morally wrong.¹
The timing couldn’t be worse for Democrats
This refusal to condemn political violence comes at the worst possible time for Democrat candidates across the country.
Less than a month ago, Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was gunned down by a sniper while speaking at Utah Valley University.
The assassination of Kirk – a prominent conservative voice who helped mobilize young Americans around traditional values – sent shockwaves through the political world.
Just weeks later, another politically motivated attack targeted an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, Texas.
A gunman identified as Joshua Jahn opened fire from a rooftop, killing one ICE detainee and critically wounding two others before taking his own life.
FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that investigators found bullet casings with "ANTI-ICE" messages written on them, and handwritten notes where the shooter said he wanted to "cause terror" to ICE employees.²
The pattern is unmistakable – and it’s escalating.
Look what happens when rhetoric meets reality
Here’s what Democrats refuse to acknowledge: their years of inflammatory rhetoric have consequences.
When politicians spend four years calling Trump "literally Hitler" and comparing his supporters to Nazis, some unhinged individuals take that seriously.
When Democrat leaders paint ICE agents as jackbooted thugs running concentration camps, someone eventually loads up a gun with "Anti-ICE" bullets.
When the Left portrays conservative speakers like Charlie Kirk as existential threats to democracy, disturbed individuals start viewing assassination as a patriotic duty.
Even Senator John Fetterman – hardly a conservative – recently shared a study showing that left-wing terrorism had reached a "30-year high."
Fetterman specifically criticized members of his own party for using rhetoric like "Hitler" and "fascist" to describe political opponents.³
The Pennsylvania Democrat understands what Stefany Shaheen apparently doesn’t – that words have power and politicians have a responsibility to dial down the temperature.
Republican opponents pounce on Shaheen’s silence
The National Republican Congressional Committee wasted no time highlighting Shaheen’s refusal to condemn political violence.
"Stefany Shaheen’s inability to condemn murdering someone over their political views isn’t just radical, it’s flat-out dangerous," said NRCC spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole.
"Shaheen is contributing to the rising political temperature, and she is unfit to serve Granite Staters in Congress."
That’s exactly right.
Any candidate who can’t bring herself to say that political murder is wrong has no business representing Americans in Congress.
The questioner in the video was asking for the most basic moral clarity imaginable – something a kindergartner could answer correctly.
Yet Shaheen walked away in silence rather than take a stand against violence.
What this really reveals about today’s Democrat Party
You want to know what Shaheen’s non-answer really tells us?
It exposes how the modern Democrat Party has painted itself into a corner with its own extremist rhetoric.
For years, Democrats have been telling their base that Republicans are fascists, democracy is ending, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
Now when someone asks them to condemn the inevitable violence that flows from that kind of inflammatory language, they can’t do it.
Condemning political violence would require acknowledging that their own side bears some responsibility for creating the current climate.
It would mean admitting that calling your opponents "existential threats" might encourage some people to take extreme action.
Democrats like Shaheen would rather stay silent than confront the monster their party’s rhetoric has created.
That’s not leadership – it’s moral cowardice.
For New Hampshire voters, Stefany Shaheen just showed them exactly who she is.
And it should disqualify her from serving in Congress.
