AOC’s latest remarks spell out the Left’s determination to eliminate the First Amendment
Around the world, leftists and so-called “moderates” have launched an all-out war on free speech and free press.
Many of these enemies of freedom have done so under the guise of preventing so-called “misinformation,” or in other words, any speech that doesn’t agree with their extreme socialist agenda.
The Biden-Harris administration and their allies in Congress have led the charge here in the United States to limit free speech.
The Biden-Harris administration has even worked hand in fist with social media companies to silence Americans online.
Squad member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) recently took to social media to express her desire to limit the freedom of speech.
According to AOC, she has spoken to other members of Congress lately about steps she thinks Congress should take to “rein in” the media in order to stop the spread of so-called “misinformation.”
More specifically, AOC said in her recently posted video, “You know, I do think that — several members of Congress in some of my discussions have brought up media literacy because that is a part of what happened here.”
“And we’re going to have to figure out how we rein in our media environment so that you can’t just spew disinformation & misinformation,” the New York socialist added.
She attempted to clarify her stance, telling her followers, “It’s one thing to have differing opinions, but it’s another thing entirely to just say things that are false. And so that’s something that we’re looking into.”
The Democrats are following in Joseph Stalin’s footsteps
An X account called RefugeOfSinners (ROS) quickly responded to these remarks, explaining to viewers, “The term ‘dezinformatsiya’ was coined by Josef Stalin in the 1920s as the name of the section of the KGB tasked with deceiving enemies and influencing public opinion. And here we have AOC telling us that ‘… you (the people) can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation. That’s something WE are looking into.’”
“Who decides what is disinformation, AOC? Who decides what is false? If it is Government that decides in its response, then maybe, just maybe, Government will use this to stop dissent, stop debate, and keep control. (A bit like Stalin…) In the past, when Government controlled the media, it did not end well,” ROS added in its response to AOC’s chilling comments.
AOC has just demonstrated why Americans should not trust so-called “misinformation” prevention initiatives.
With so much at stake this November, the Biden-Harris administration and countless states and city governments have dumped billions into so-called “misinformation prevention” programs.
However, these programs seem only to target conservatives, regardless of what they have to say.
Many Americans fear that these programs could give Democrats an unfair advantage this November.
And many fear what might be next on their radical agenda to shred the Constitution.
