With Joe Biden’s approval rating in the tank Democrats have called in Barack Obama to supposedly save the day.
But the former President may have bit off more than he could chew when he decided to wade into Georgia’s Senate race.
And Barack Obama was furious after Herschel Walker hit him with these five words.
According to the most recent projections, Republicans and Democrats are neck-and-neck in the battle for control of the U.S. Senate.
And with the 2022 Midterms coming to an end, Republicans and Democrats have zeroed in on a handful of key battleground races that may just ultimately decide which party controls the Senate for at least the next two years.
One of those key races is Georgia’s Senate race, where incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Republican challenger Herschel Walker are locked in a toss-up battle.
But in recent weeks, polls have appeared to indicate that Walker has seized the momentum in the race, and currently leads Senator Warnock by less than 2-points, according to Real Clear Politics’ polling average.
As such, Democrats have responded by sending in their big guns — former President Barack Obama.
Unsurprisingly, Obama chose to use his visit to Georgia to mock and ridicule Walker by continuing to push Democrats’ narrative that Walker is somehow unqualified to serve in the Senate — even as they claim Pennsylvania Democrat Senate candidate John Fetterman, who cannot form coherent thoughts or complete sentences since a near-fatal stroke, is somehow fit to serve in the Senate.
“Herschel Walker was a heck of a football player, one of the best running backs of all time,” Obama said. “Does that make him the best person to represent you in the United States Senate?”
But the former President didn’t stop there.
He also chose to reiterate the racist attack Democrats and the Fake News Media have used against Walker by questioning his intelligence, something that would cause them to meltdown, were the shoe on the other foot.
“In the case of Reverend Warnock’s opponent, there is very little evidence that he’s taken any interest, bothered to learn anything about, or displayed any kind of information towards public service, or volunteer work, or helping people in any way,” Obama claimed. “At least we really don’t know about it. And that does make you suspect.”
Mind you, back in 2008, Barack Obama had the weakest resume in the history of Presidential candidates, yet any question over whether he was prepared for the job were dismissed as “racist.”
And in an interview with Fox News, Herschel Walker took Obama to task over his claims that the former Heisman Trophy at the University of Georgia was a “celebrity” and not a legitimate Senate candidate.
“President Obama was here last night,” Walker began. “He said I’m a celebrity. He got that one wrong, didn’t he? I’m not a celebrity, I’m a warrior for God.”
“He got something else wrong, too,” the Republican continued. “Remember two years ago he told us to vote for Joe Biden, didn’t he? He got that one wrong, did he not? He’s lost twice to Georgia already, hasn’t he, so I think he probably needs to sit this one out.”
But most of all, Walker truly sent Obama over the edge when he said there was one thing he’d be doing for the former President.
“I’m sorry to tell former President Obama, I’m sorry, I’m gonna pray for him,” Walker added. “I’m gonna pray for him because he needs some help. He needs some help because he got with the wrong horse. Senator Warnock is the wrong horse. You know he can’t do the job, and it’s time for him to leave. So don’t let the door hit your butt as you walk out of there.”
There’s nothing Democrats hate more than for a black Republican to be elected to office.
But based on the way Georgia is trending, as long as voters show up on Tuesday, they may just have to get used to hearing a lot more from Herschel Walker.
