Amongst the plethora of Joe Biden’s mistakes, Democrats probably regret his running mate pick the most.
Nobody has a higher opinion of the Vice President than the lady herself.
But Bernie Sanders just smacked her with one big reality check that has her boiling mad.
It’s become abundantly obvious that Joe Biden’s mental health is degrading so rapidly Democrats are unlikely to give him another shot in 2024.
Normally, as Vice-President, Kamala Harris would be next in line as the favored candidate for her party’s nomination.
But Harris’ bumbling contributions to Joe Biden’s disastrous administration are catching up with her quickly.
Faiz Shakir, the campaign manager for Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign just highlighted that by flouting Washington, D.C. etiquette and circulating a memo everyone inside the beltway is talking about.
Of course, The Washington Post was quick to circulate that juicy bit of gossip.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is open to running for president in 2024 if President Biden declines to seek re-election, according to a campaign memo a top political adviser distributed to allies on Wednesday that was shared with The Washington Post.
“In the event of an open 2024 Democratic presidential primary, Sen. Sanders has not ruled out another run for president, so we advise that you answer any questions about 2024 with that in mind,” says the memo from Faiz Shakir.
The memo was shared by a person with direct knowledge of its contents on the condition of anonymity because it was not released publicly, and confirmed by a second person with direct knowledge of the contents.
Shakir assured Meet the Press host Chuck Todd that a primary challenge to Joe Biden is “off the table.”
But Harris is getting no such assurance.
While he claimed Sanders respects Harris, Shakir left the door wide open to a challenge.
“The question on Vice President Harris if she were to run, or anybody, is to just say, what are you going to run for? What’s your agenda going to be? And then Sen. Sanders would make his determination and judgment at that point,” Shakir stated.
It’s obvious nobody can out “bern” Bernie Sanders.
Bernie’s campaign has basically fired the shot at the starting line for Democrats hoping to get someone less embarrassing from their party into the Oval Office in 2024.
They definitely have their work cut out for them.
But there’s one thing for sure, no Democrat fears or respects Harris.
With 12 of Harris’s aides ditching the Vice President in the past 15 months, she can’t even keep a staff in the second most cushy job in the land.
And that doesn’t bode well for being able to pull together a campaign staff for a ferocious political battle in a contested Primary.
