Joe Biden’s Presidency is on the rocks.
Several members of Congress have already called for Biden to resign or be impeached for his gross mishandling of the situation in Afghanistan.
And Biden bowed again as Supreme Court Justices smack administration in late-night ruling.
The Supreme Court handed down a ruling in June that allowed Biden’s eviction moratorium to stand.
However, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who cast the deciding vote, specifically stated that the only reason he ruled that way was because the moratorium would soon expire and only Congress had the legal authority to extend it further.
Once the moratorium expired, Joe Biden stepped in and ordered the CDC to issue a new rule blocking landlords from evicting tenants who refused to pay rent.
Apparently, the justices were not pleased with Biden making a mockery of their ruling.
Late on Thursday, the majority issued an 8-page ruling striking down Biden’s moratorium and blasting his administration.
In the ruling the Justices declared it “strains credulity” to believe the CDC can wipe out rent in America on public health grounds:
“Careful review of that record makes clear that the applicants are virtually certain to succeed on the merits of their argument that the CDC has exceeded its authority. It would be one thing if Congress had specifically authorized the action that the CDC has taken. But that has not happened. Instead, the CDC has imposed a nationwide moratorium on evictions in reliance on a decades-old statute that authorizes it to implement measures like fumigation and pest extermination. It strains credulity to believe that this statute grants the CDC the sweeping authority that it asserts.”
The ruling continued with justices pointing out that the eviction moratorium didn’t just hurt landlords by depriving them of their rental income, it also hurts potential renters who are denied houses because landlords cannot remove a delinquent tenant.
“The equities do not justify depriving the applicants of the District Court’s judgment in their favor,” the court added. “The moratorium has put the applicants, along with millions of landlords across the country, at risk of irreparable harm by depriving them of rent payments with no guarantee of eventual recovery.”
Of course, Joe Biden admitted his order may be illegal when he first issued it.
And the Supreme Court just confirmed it to be illegal and dealt Biden a tough defeat.
