The way Joe Biden has been running this country off a cliff defies logic.
Now with a slim majority in the House next year Republicans are taking aim at one of the worst offenders in the Biden/Harris administration.
And Joe Biden’s DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is reeling after getting the ultimate career-ending threat.
As Homeland Security Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas is tasked with making America a safer place to live.
Instead, he’s been doing everything in his power to allow what the Arizona Attorney General has noted amounts to the constitutional definition of an invasion along the United States’ southern border.
The first day he walked into the Oval Office, Joe Biden started dismantling former President Donald Trump’s highly effective border security measures.
Soon he appointed Mayorkas to take over brainstorming ways to get around even the Title 42 rule as the and ultimately managed to create loopholes allowing all but 35% of illegal aliens detained into the country.
Now Republicans who have spent the past two years on the sidelines helpless are taking aim at the problem.
House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is now calling on Mayorkas to resign.
If he doesn’t, McCarthy is warning the DHS boss could face an ugly impeachment process.
“His actions have produced the great wave of illegal immigration in recorded history,” McCarthy announced at a press conference in El Paso, Texas. “This is why today I am calling on the secretary to resign.”
“He cannot and must not remain in that position,” McCarthy added. “If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure to determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.”
McCarthy went on to assure the Democrat that he’s not issuing an empty threat.
In fact, the Republican leader has already cleared the plan with Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Representative James Comer (R-KY) who are the ranking Republicans on the Judiciary and Oversight Committees.
McCarthy says both men have his complete support to dig into the utter “collapse” of America’s southern border.
“The American public deserves more, deserves better and expects more within their government. Enough is enough. We will do whatever it takes,” McCarthy vowed.
After Mayorkas lied under oath in recent weeks by claiming that the border is “secure,” McCarthy told Fox News’ Bill Melugin he’ll hold Congressional border hearings on location to force Democrats to face the crisis they’ve created.
While it’s still unknown exactly how much power a Republican House with only a slim majority will be able to exert, things are certainly shaping up to indicate an entertaining legislative session lies ahead.
