Under the Biden administration, the Left has weakened our military with their radical social policies.
Diversity training and bending over backwards to appease the radical LGBT lobby have taken the place of combat effectiveness.
And after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and sent the issue of abortion back to the states, Biden’s defense secretary, Lloyd Austin, announced a policy that the military will pay for travel for servicemembers to get abortions.
That move was not only done without Congressional approval, the policy also goes against the Hyde Amendment, which bans the use of federal taxpayer dollars to pay for abortion.
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville decided to fight back, and placed a hold on Senate confirmations of the military brass responsible.
Tuberville’s demands to lift the holds are simple: the Pentagon needs to rescind the policy and the Senate will vote on what policy will be put in place.
The Senate could still confirm the promotions over Tuberville’s objection, but it would take up a lot of floor time as each promotion would be voted on individually.
But a group of RINOs, led by Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan, who claims to be pro-Life, are now working on ways to force the promotions through, while doing nothing to stop taxpayers from being forced to fund the termination of innocent unborn babies’ lives.
Sullivan, along with Senators Joni Ernst, Lindsey Graham, Shelley Moore Capito, and Todd Young, all of whom claim to be pro-Life, are now floating the idea of working with Chuck Schumer and the Democrats to pass a resolution that would allow the Senate to confirm the roughly 300 promotions as a bloc.
Democrats and RINOs are trying to vilify Tuberville, claiming that he is hurting the military at a time when international tensions are on the rise.
But the actual impact of delaying these promotions is negligible, and mostly just affects when the top brass will get their next pay raise.
Senate approval for promotions is only required for senior officers – officers already at the higher end of the military pay scale.
It’s common practice for military members to fill a position in a higher paygrade than they actually hold.
Tuberville is doing what he believes must be done to stop your tax dollars from funding abortion on demand.
But Sullivan and the others appear hellbent on helping Democrats and the Abortion Lobby under the guise of “supporting the troops.”
Sadly, the RINO establishment still hasn’t learned that it’s not merely that the Republican base is overwhelmingly pro-Life, or that a big chunk of them are single-issue voters on the issue, it’s that they’re single-issue organizers – aka vote multipliers.
And whether it’s Mitch McConnell ahead of the 2022 Midterms or Governors Glenn Youngkin of Virginia and Mike DeWine of Ohio in elections this week, time and again instead of campaigning vigorously for pro-Life policy, the GOP establishment has insisted on a strategy of only opposing Democrat radicalism on abortion luke-warmly, at best.
The result is often the same with that strategy backfiring on the GOP at the ballot box.
And now the gang of RINO Senators opposing Tuberville’s hold are going to point to the situation as their excuse to stab Conservatives in the back just to reward Biden’s woke Generals.
