Democrats are all talk when it comes to funding their outrageous schemes with money the ultra-rich will never miss.
But the truth is their outrageous spending sprees will end up being footed by Americans at every income level.
And the Biden administration just proved that by gearing up to crack down on your favorite diner’s waitresses.
The IRS is such a phenomenal mess right now that the agency has warned tax payers to hold off on filing their returns with no word on when it will be safe to do so again.
Despite the fact that you’d think they’d have all hands on deck cleaning up that mess, bureaucrats still managed to find time to pitch a new revenue procedure recently to crack down on waitresses.
The Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) program is a proposed “voluntary” program where the federal agency is trying to talk employers into snitching on employees who may be under-reporting the amount of tips they’re taking in.
Tax reform advocates immediately latched onto the irony of the administration’s messaging around cracking down on taxpayers.
“Those 87,000 new IRS agents that you were promised would only target the rich,” Mike Palicz, federal affairs manager at Americans for Tax Reform, tweeted. “They’re coming after waitresses’ tips now.”
The IRS was quick to inform Fox News Digital that the scheme is “not a proposal for the auditing of servers.”
But that claim was backed up by absolutely nothing of substance.
It is, in fact, a massive effort to closely track every service worker in America.
The only reason the IRS official could cite to claim otherwise is because the program is not yet approved to go into effect at this point.
“This proposal is not in effect and is intended to welcome further conversation from all interested parties before any rule is put into place,” the official claimed.
No doubt, the agency is merely doing its part now to meet federal transparency requirements and desperately hoping the issue will be forgotten long before its scheduled to be implemented.
The agency’s timing couldn’t possibly be worse considering that Bidenflation is having such a dramatic effect on the economy it’s being felt by all Americans with those at the lowest income levels desperately struggling to afford both food and fuel and they limp along from paycheck to paycheck.
