Democrats have gone certifiable since a leaked Supreme Court draft signaled the possible end of Roe v. Wade.
Meanwhile, Republicans are concentrating on the leak.
And Bill Barr just dropped a truthbomb about the SCOTUS leaker in an interview with Megyn Kelly.
A leaked document from the Supreme Court of the United States appears to indicate the high court is ready to rule to finally overturn the deadly Roe v. Wade decision.
If the majority ruling draft, written by Justice Samuel Alito, does become a reality, it would make massive changes in protecting the lives of the unborn in American, but would NOT – as many Democrats are inaccurately claiming – outlaw abortion in the United States.
What it would do is immediately greenlight laws in at least 13 Red States protecting innocent unborn babies in those states alone.
New abortion restrictions recently passed in states like Florida, Texas, Mississippi and Arizona – which set time tables and conditions for abortions – would also be protected from federal litigation if this draft ruling comes to fruition.
Democrat lawmakers immediately flipped into crisis mode and began game planning next steps to ensure women – since they seem to have abandoned the term “birthing people” for this fight – can continue aborting their babies.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice John Roberts has called for an investigation by the Marshal of the Court.
The duties of the Supreme Court Marshal typically include the security of the building and the personal security of the justices – not high-level investigations.
But former Attorney General during the Trump Presidency, Bill Barr’s legal opinion is a more substantial inquiry is warranted.
“What about this Marshal investigation,” Megyn Kelly asked the former US Attorney General in an interview on her SiriusXM program. “Having covered the high court for a few years, I can say the Supreme Court Marshal investigating you isn’t the sentence that strikes fear into the hearts of men and women.”
Barr agreed with Kelly’s assessment that more needs to be done to get to the bottom of the leak and hold whomever is responsible accountable.
“The Chief (Justice John Roberts) would have had the option – and perhaps still will – to appoint a special council in the classical criminal sense,” Barr answered. “He can bring in a former U.S. attorney or someone with a criminal law background. I’m sure he would get the support he needed from the FBI or any other law enforcement agency.”
However, to get to the truth, Barr believes there is another important step that needs to be taken.
“I think they may need a grand jury to do that, which would mean a criminal case,” Barr said. “To compel the truth.”
Kelly suggested that may be needed to prevent people from lying to a Marshal or special prosecutor and Barr concurred.
Kelly said the leaker performed an unethical act and should be disbarred, but wasn’t sure if a crime was committed.
Barr, on the other hand, believes there was.
“It could be obstructing the administration of justice, the due process of justice,” Barr said. “Obstruction means you’re attempting to influence through some kind of wrongdoing. I don’t think it’s a stretch.”
The former United States Attorney General added that if he were running the investigation, he would have to double check all the statutes, but he believes going after the leaker criminals for obstruction is the way to go.
Many political pundits believe the leak was an attempt to motivate far-left voters ahead of the 2022 midterms, where by all indicators, Democrats are trailing the GOP.
