Senator Bill Cassidy spent months posting pictures from the Oval Office.
He bragged about his "great working relationship" with President Trump.
But Bill Cassidy backstabbed Trump with one call that proved he was lying all along.
The mask came off 24 hours after Trump's endorsement
Trump officially endorsed Congresswoman Julia Letlow on January 17, 2026, for Louisiana's Senate race.
Cassidy's true colors showed immediately.
Within 24 hours, the Louisiana Senator joined Lisa Murkowski and other Trump-hating Republicans to attack ICE agents in Minneapolis.
"The events in Minneapolis are incredibly disturbing," Cassidy posted on social media.
He demanded "a full joint federal and state investigation" into ICE activities.
Translation: Cassidy joined the leftist mob trying to stop Trump's immigration enforcement.
ICE agents are removing criminals from American streets
ICE deployed over 2,000 agents to Minneapolis targeting illegal aliens.
They're deporting gang members and criminals exactly as Trump promised.
But Cassidy saw his chance to score points with the liberal media and grabbed it.
The Senator who pretended to love Trump for months couldn't even wait a week after losing his endorsement to stab the President in the back.
Trump knew Cassidy was a snake from the start
The President never bought Cassidy's act.
In 2021, Cassidy was one of only seven Republican Senators who voted to convict Trump on bogus impeachment charges.
Trump endorsed Cassidy in 2020 before that betrayal — the Senator won reelection with 59% only because Trump carried Louisiana by the same margin.
The Louisiana Republican Party unanimously censured Cassidy for his impeachment vote.
"Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person," Cassidy said at the time.
That's Democrat talk, not Louisiana Republican talk.
Cassidy doesn't represent Louisiana — he represents the Washington establishment that despises Trump.
Cassidy's voting record exposes the fraud
Heritage Action gives Cassidy a lifetime conservative rating of 62%.
That's an F for any Republican from Louisiana.
In 2021, Cassidy voted for Biden's $1.2 trillion Infrastructure bill — which the Competitive Enterprise Institute called "the most wasteful infrastructure bill ever."
In 2022, Cassidy supported the CHIPS Act — "$250 billion of corporate welfare" according to Heritage Action.
That same year, Cassidy backed gun control legislation Democrats pushed through.
These aren't Trump policies.
These are establishment Republican sellouts helping Biden and Pelosi.
Cassidy can post all the MAGA hat photos he wants — his voting record tells the real story.
Tim Walz created the crisis Cassidy exploits
Governor Tim Walz has sabotaged ICE operations from day one.
The same governor who let Minneapolis burn during the 2020 George Floyd riots now lectures federal agents about excessive force.
Walz called ICE activities "a reckless mobilization" and told Trump to "leave Minnesota alone."
Under Walz's watch, Minnesota became a magnet for illegal immigration and the Somali fraud scandal that's now exploding.
Walz is using a tragic shooting to attack Trump's immigration crackdown and distract from his own failures.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey told federal agents to "get the f**k out of Minneapolis."
These aren't serious people interested in truth or justice.
And Cassidy just joined their team.
No state investigation under Walz can be trusted
Cassidy knows exactly what he's doing by calling for Minnesota to investigate federal agents.
Walz already declared ICE guilty before any investigation started.
The Justice Department is now investigating Walz and Frey for obstructing federal law enforcement.
That's who Cassidy wants conducting a "joint investigation" with the feds.
It's a setup designed to attack Trump's immigration enforcement and give Democrats ammunition.
Cassidy's playing for the wrong team and everyone can see it.
Julia Letlow offers Louisiana what Cassidy never did
Letlow was first elected to Congress in 2021 after her husband died from COVID complications days before taking office.
She's been a reliable Trump vote ever since.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry — Trump's envoy to Greenland — identified Letlow months ago as the ideal challenger to Cassidy.
"Louisiana deserves a conservative Senator who will not waver," Letlow said announcing her campaign.
That's a direct shot at Cassidy's record of betrayal.
Trump's endorsement gives Letlow the edge in a crowded primary that includes former Congressman John Fleming and State Representative Julie Emerson.
"Julia Letlow has my Complete and Total Endorsement," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The President learned his lesson from 2020.
He's not making the same mistake twice with Cassidy.
Cassidy's desperate play won't save him
The spurned Senator tried everything to appear loyal after Trump won.
He voted for Trump nominees he privately opposed — including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as HHS Secretary despite Cassidy's loud complaints about vaccine policy.
None of it worked.
Trump saw through the charade and endorsed Letlow anyway.
Cassidy's response exposed what Trump already knew — the Louisiana Senator was lying the whole time.
Louisiana's primary is May 16, 2026
Louisiana holds its Republican primary in less than four months.
Only Republicans and independents can vote in the GOP primary.
If no candidate gets over 50%, the top two finishers head to a runoff.
Cassidy enters with nearly $10 million in his campaign war chest.
But Letlow's fundraising will explode now that she has Trump's backing.
More importantly, Louisiana Republicans remember Cassidy's impeachment vote.
They know his 62% conservative rating is garbage for a red state Senator.
And they just watched him attack ICE agents enforcing the immigration laws Trump campaigned on.
Cassidy's trying to have it both ways — claim he supports Trump while joining Democrats to sabotage his agenda.
Louisiana voters aren't stupid.
They see exactly what Cassidy is doing.
The May primary will show whether Louisiana wants a Senator who stands with Trump or one who stabs him in the back the moment he thinks nobody's watching.
