For all of the Left’s talk about Fox News being a Republican propaganda outlet the network sure loves to espouse opinions that leave viewers scratching their heads.
After all, despite the fact that it is the only network that challenges Democrats’ so-called “mainstream” narrative, Fox News is still a corporate-controlled media outlet.
And now this longtime Fox News analysts’ shocking immigration claim left viewers totally dumbfounded.
As the Biden border crisis continues to spiral even further out of control, working class Americans across the political spectrum are becoming more and more frustrated.
According to a recent survey conducted by Gallup, 63% of Americans are “dissatisfied” with the current record-breaking levels of immigration, while just 28% are “satisfied” – the lowest percentage of satisfaction with the levels of immigration recorded by Gallup since 2008.
In their analysis of the poll’s results, Gallup noted that the overwhelming majority of dissatisfaction with the current levels of immigration is being driven by a growing number of Americans who want immigration restricted.
“In a follow-up question, most of the dissatisfied group (64%, equivalent to 40% of U.S. adults) say they want immigration decreased,” Gallup reported. “Far fewer, 8% of Americans, are dissatisfied because they want it increased, while the remaining 15% are dissatisfied but want the level to remain the same or are unsure.”
But that fact didn’t sit well with Fox News’ senior political analyst Brit Hume.
And he proceeded to leave viewers scratching their heads after he expressed his displeasure with the idea that lowering the current record-breaking level of immigration would rob wealthy corporations of cheap foreign labor.
“This has the potential, Bret, to be really quite tragic,” Hume told Fox News’ Bret Baier.
“Immigrants and their descendants have made an enormous contribution to this country,” he continued. “We need them to continue to be able to do that. We need legal immigrants to be able to continue to come and bring their skills and talents — their mere ability to get here is a sign of potential.”
Of course, Hume knows – or at least, should know – that there’s a difference between restricting legal immigration and restricting illegal immigration, and that the overwhelming majority of those wanting to restrict immigration would simply like for immigrants to come through the front door rather than by being trafficked by dangerous drug cartels.
As such, he attempted to retroactively preface his excoriation of those who would like to see less illegal immigration by trying to explain that he understands why they feel that way.
“But the illegal immigration on the scale that we’ve seen, the absolutely porous southern border… has soured people on immigration, and it shows up perfectly in the poll numbers that you just showed,” Hume said.
Nevertheless, he still made sure to drive home his point by complaining that in the Biden economy, corporations need cheap foreign labor to hire, rather than American workers.
“So at a time when the economy needs to grow, the labor force is tight, and you’re going to need workers for the economy to come, this is a negative development when people feel this way about [illegal] immigration because it’ll restrict the willingness of both parties to support legal immigration,” Hume contended.
Fox News were likely stunned to hear one of the networks’ top talking heads pushing that position on immigration.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of RINO politicians in the Republican establishment who will happily tell the American people they want to end the record-breaking levels of illegal immigration, while simultaneously coming up with all sorts of reasons they just can’t.
