Hollywood celebrities who break ranks with the Left face swift and brutal consequences.
The entertainment industry's blacklist is real and ruins careers overnight.
But Cheers legend John Ratzenberger just torched Gavin Newsom in a campaign endorsement that has Hollywood elites fuming.
Cheers Star Backs Republican Sheriff Chad Bianco For California Governor 2026
John Ratzenberger spent 11 seasons making America laugh as the lovable know-it-all mailman Cliff Clavin on Cheers.
The 78-year-old actor also became Pixar's "good luck charm" by voicing characters in nearly every film from Toy Story through Onward.
His distinctive voice brought life to Hamm the piggy bank, the Abominable Snowman in Monsters, Inc., and Mack the truck in Cars.
He gave an exclusive statement to the Daily Caller endorsing Republican Sheriff Chad Bianco for California Governor in the 2026 race.
Ratzenberger didn't hold back in blasting Newsom's failed leadership during the COVID lockdowns.
Riverside County Sheriff Defied Newsom COVID Lockdowns While Businesses Shuttered
Ratzenberger praised Bianco as the only man he trusts to fix the mess Newsom is leaving behind.
The Hollywood legend specifically highlighted how Bianco stood with business owners and refused to enforce Newsom's closure orders while other law enforcement arrested people for trying to survive.
Bianco serves as Sheriff of Riverside County, one of California's largest counties with over 2.4 million residents.
He was first elected in 2018 after defeating the incumbent and won re-election in 2022 with about 60% of the vote.
The 30-year law enforcement veteran made national headlines during the pandemic by defying Newsom's lockdown orders.
While Newsom partied with celebrities at the French Laundry restaurant, Bianco stood with small business owners fighting to survive.
Ratzenberger told the Daily Caller that Bianco's background and experience are needed to finally put an end to the crime and corruption plaguing California.
Hollywood Blacklist Awaits Conservative Celebrities Who Speak Out
Ratzenberger's endorsement carries particular weight because he's publicly supporting a Republican in deep-blue California while his Hollywood career still depends on industry goodwill.
The entertainment industry has become increasingly hostile to anyone who doesn't toe the progressive line on every issue.
Actress Gina Carano learned that lesson the hard way after Disney fired her from The Mandalorian in 2021 for social media posts comparing the political climate to Nazi Germany, with Lucasfilm calling her posts abhorrent and unacceptable.
Actor Chris Pratt faced similar cancel culture attacks in 2020 when Twitter users demanded Marvel replace him in Guardians of the Galaxy because of his Christian faith, forcing co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo to publicly defend him.
Ratzenberger knows exactly what he's risking by endorsing Bianco and attacking Newsom so publicly.
Chad Bianco Leads Republicans In Early 2026 California Governor Race Polls
California voters are fed up with the dysfunction plaguing their state.
Crime has exploded across major cities as Newsom championed soft-on-crime policies and early release programs.
Homelessness has reached crisis levels despite Newsom spending billions on failed programs that only make the problem worse.
Businesses continue fleeing to red states like Texas and Florida where they're treated like assets instead of piggy banks for progressive politicians.
Bianco officially announced his gubernatorial campaign in February 2025, becoming the first major Republican to enter the race.
Newsom is term-limited and cannot run for a third term as California Governor.
An Emerson College poll released in December showed Bianco leading all Republican candidates with 13% support.
He's running ahead of former Fox News host Steve Hilton who also polled at 12%, and ahead of Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell at 12%.
Former Democrat Rep. Katie Porter trails at 11% in the crowded field.
Bianco is even leading among independent voters in California.
California 2026 Primary Could Send Two Republicans To November General Election
California's unique top-two primary system sends the top two vote-getters regardless of party to the November general election.
With over two dozen candidates already declared and the June 2026 primary approaching, Democrats could split their vote so badly that two Republicans advance.
Newsom has spent years cultivating relationships with Hollywood elites who bankroll Democrat campaigns and provide political cover through friendly media appearances.
Having one of Hollywood's most recognizable voices turn against the Democrats and endorse a Republican sheriff creates a crack in that carefully constructed wall of celebrity support.
Democrats are nervous because Ratzenberger's endorsement gives ordinary Californians permission to question the narrative that Newsom's policies are working.
Look at what the media won't tell you about California.
Crime is out of control but they call it "property crime."
Tent cities cover entire blocks but they call it "housing insecurity."
Companies are fleeing to Texas but they call it "business restructuring."
The media lies for Newsom because they're on the same team.
That's why Ratzenberger's endorsement stings.

The guy voiced Hamm in Toy Story for crying out loud.
When someone like that says California's a disaster, regular people believe it.
Hollywood's already deciding Ratzenberger's fate.
Some studio executive is crossing his name off a casting list right now.
Agents are taking meetings about "optics."
That's how the blacklist works in 2026.
You don't get a letter saying you're banned.
Your phone just stops ringing.
