Democrats have made it their mission to protect Joe Biden no matter what comes their way.
But after almost four years they appear to be running out of steam.
Even an old pro at stonewalling to protect the current Commander-in-Chief like FBI Director Christopher Wray seems to be getting exhausted from the constant effort.
Recently during a Senate hearing Wray met his interrogators with a silence that spoke far louder than words.
Wray was in a Homeland Security meeting when Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) asked a simple question the top FBI boss apparently found almost impossible to answer.
“Is the United States safer from foreign terror threats today?” Scott asked. “Are we safer than when Joe Biden took office — from the day he took office?”
Rather than responding quickly, Wray let silence settle over the room while he apparently struggled to pull together a response to that cutting question.
I asked FBI Director Wray a simple question: is the U.S. safer today than it was before @JoeBiden took office? After nearly 10 seconds of silence, he finally admitted what we all know…

“What I would say to you is that the terror threats have elevated. But I also think there are a lot of things the country has done throughout law enforcement to be better prepared to deal with them,” Wray finally hedged.
“I asked FBI Director Wray a simple question: is the U.S. safer today than it was before [Joe Biden] took office? After nearly 10 seconds of silence, he finally admitted what we all know,” Scott reported in a post on X. “The terror threats have elevated.”
In his response, Wray admitted that the level of danger America faces from a potential terrorist attack has been increased to a “whole other level.”
“The reality is that the terrorism threat has been elevated throughout 2023,” Wray noted. “But the ongoing war in the Middle East has raised the threat of an attack against Americans in the United States to a whole other level.”
When Scott posted a clip of the hearing on X, the comments section blew up.
“Wray’s silence and his parsing of words speaks volumes,” social media user John Longbowe noted.
“You got him good,” Don Keith added.
“These top-level FBI are millionaires,” user D. Neloff piled on. “Not worth a penny from American taxpayers.”
Indeed, way back in 2017, the Wall Street Journal calculated that Wray’s net worth was somewhere between $23 million and $42 million.
Much of Wray’s wealth was likely racked up during his time as a private attorney when he made more than $9.2 million a year prior to stepping into his role.
However, you’d expect someone paid that much for his sharp wits would be able to make a snappy response to one simple question—especially since he was nominated by Donald Trump and shouldn’t have any sort of baked in loyalty to Sleepy Joe.
But considering what happened during the last few months of Trump’s term in office, it seems clear the Republican had some powerful forces working against him.
And it seems even in the face of the obvious downward spiral the country—and world—is in, the FBI is still committed to protecting Joe Biden even at the highest levels.
