Even though the Democrats control the entire Federal Government, they only hold razor-thin majorities in the House and Senate.
Republicans only need a net gain of one seat to win back the Senate in 2022.
And Chuck Schumer is worried he could be fired after Joe Biden just made this one announcement.
February 14 was the 3rd anniversary of the horrific school shooting in Parkland, Florida that resulted in 17 dead and dozens more injured.
But even though it’s been three years, Democrats are still trying to use the shooting as an excuse to ram their radical gun control agenda into law.
In fact, on the third anniversary of the tragedy, Joe Biden even issued a press release announcing his plans to ban guns, make it easier for Americans to sue gun manufacturers, create a national gun registration database, and a number of other radical gun control schemes that will destroy the Second Amendment.
Read the White House’s statement here:
“This Administration will not wait for the next mass shooting to heed that call. We will take action to end our epidemic of gun violence and make our schools and communities safer. Today, I am calling on Congress to enact common sense gun law reforms, including requiring background checks on all gun sales, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and eliminating immunity for gun manufacturers who knowingly put weapons of war on our streets. We owe it to all those we’ve lost and to all those left behind to grieve to make a change. The time to act is now.”
Of course, even though Joe Biden and most Democrats are pushing radical gun control schemes, some Democrats in states like Georgia, Arizona and New Hampshire — where voters are very “pro-gun” — are up for re-election in 2022.
And history shows that pushing gun control results in a slaughter at the ballot box in the next election, just like Democrats did after Bill Clinton’s failed 1994 assault weapons ban and Barack Obama’s failed push in 2013 to create a gun registration database.
If history repeats itself, as they often say it does, then Joe Biden calling for radical new gun control laws could hand Republicans back the majority in 2022 and cost Chuck Schumer his job as Majority Leader.
