The Left’s hatred of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas runs deep.
They will do anything to slander, denigrate, and even erase him.
And now Clarence Thomas’ Ivy League alma mater has shown the great lengths taken to dishonor one of their most famous alums, in a dirty trick that could put Thomas away for a long time.
American universities are the proving grounds for all of the “woke” leftist insanity sweeping the nation today.
Unfortunately, in almost every case, the most prestigious and elite colleges are the worst offenders.
And the worst of the worst are the Ivy League schools.
That’s why no one was surprised when Yale University would go to great lengths to dishonor one of their most famous alums, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
But it was surprising just how they would do it.
In 2018, wealthy Republican Harlan Crow who is a decades-long friend of Thomas, commissioned a portrait of Justice Thomas to hang in Yale Law School.
Law School Dean Heather Gerken profusely thanked Crow for the donation and replied, “We are so pleased to welcome the justice to our outstanding gallery of portraits…They will always have a place of prominence at Yale Law School.”
Gerken went even further though in his praises, he called Thomas a “trailblazer.”
However, five years later, nobody at Yale seems to know where Thomas’ portrait hangs — if it does at all.
Students and members of the faculty have never even seen the famous portrait, even though Thomas sat for it.
The Washington Free Beacon reached out to Gerken and the Yale Law School for comment but did not get a response.
Crow, however did talk to the news outlet.
Crow told the Free Beacon, “It was completely understood that the painting would join…the pantheon of paintings.”
Now it is true Thomas previously had a contentious relationship with the ivy league school.
Thomas once remarked that a Yale Law degree “meant one thing for white graduates and another for blacks,” although many years later he called his remarks “juvenile.”
And Thomas’s experience at Yale is one of the reasons why he has been a strong opponent of affirmative action, which diminishes the qualifications of minority groups and actually causes more, not less, racism.
The Free Beacon reported that “[t]ypically, the university has marked portrait unveilings with celebratory events. The school in 2017 held such an event for the unveiling of Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s portrait, which now hangs in the law school’s largest classroom.”
Meanwhile, nobody knows the whereabouts of Thomas’s portrait.
In 2005, the Yale Daily News wrote, “The walls of the law school display portraits of past Supreme Court justices affiliated with Yale—William Howard Taft, William Douglas, Byron White, Abe Fortas, and Potter Stewart—but Thomas’s portrait is conspicuously absent.”
With all the talk in the news about Harlan Crow and Justice Thomas, don’t expect the portrait to magically appear any time soon.
In fact, you can probably be sure it will never appear in the “hallowed halls” of Yale.
Clarence Thomas simply has the “wrong” politics, so he will forever be punished by leftist activists, and his own alma mater.
