Democrats have invested decades into trying to destroy Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ career.
And they’ve doubled down on those efforts over the past year.
But Justice Thomas’ political enemies just made one massive misstep that could cost them everything.
The Left’s disdain for Clarence Thomas dates back to his days working in the Education Department during the Reagan administration.
They failed to “Bork” him during his Senate confirmation back in 1991, but Democrats and their allies in the media have recommitted to taking out the conservative by subjecting him to numerous investigations.
One hit piece after another has come out in recent days attempting to paint Thomas as some bought-off judge over his 30-year friendship with billionaire Harlan Crow.
In reality, Thomas and Crow have not only been friends for 30 years but Thomas has also abided by all disclosure rules.
What’s more, Crow has never had any business come before the Supreme Court and if he did, Thomas would likely recuse himself.
That’d be one of few times the legacy media might actually do their jobs.
The same cannot be said of other Justices like Sonia Sotomayor who earned $3.6 million from Penguin Random House and didn’t recuse herself from a subsequent case involving her benefactor.
Now one of the groups attempting to take out Thomas just exposed itself in a bizarre twist.
Fix the Court—a non-profit group out to get Thomas—recently slipped up by accidentally sending its donor list to the Washington Examiner.
The documentation paints a far different picture than what the organization has been presenting to the world, showing that Fix the Court is funded by a handful of leftists billionaires who oppose Thomas and other conservative justices.
The massive mistake occurred when the organization’s executive director Gabe Roth mistakenly sent Washington Examiner reporter Gabe Kaminsky the wrong tax form in response to a request for information.
After realizing he’s just accidentally revealed his funding sources, Roth tried to convince Kaminsky to keep his secret.
“I mean, basically, I’ve tried to donate money; I have failed…I tried to raise money; I have failed. I have only two foundations that give me money, and if their names become public, they’re never going to talk to me again, and Fix the Court is over,” Roth claimed. “My screwup this morning probably cost me my job…I really just don’t know what to do here…[I] just f*cked up in a minute.”
That revelation was significant considering that Roth has been lying about how the organization is funded.
In April 2022, Roth publicly claimed that Fix the Court is funded by “average Americans.”
Before proceeding with his story, Kaminsky reached out to attorneys to verify he could legally publish the information he received from Roth accidentally.
Alan Dye, a partner at Webster, Chamberlain & Bean, assured Kaminsky that there was nothing illegal about sharing what he’d learned, even if accidentally.
“There’s certainly nothing illegal…It’s a mistake. It’s been made before by a lot of organizations,” Dye explained. “Overdisclosure is not a crime. There’s nothing wrong with overdisclosure. Underdisclosure would be penalized.”
Now thanks to a simple accident, the curtain has been pulled back a bit on the Left’s dark money plots to get Thomas removed from the Supreme Court.
It turns out leftist billionaire elites—not “average Americans”—are trying to take out the conservative justice.
Old enough to remember when @gabe_roth told C-Span Arabella Advisor's project @FixTheCourt was funded by "average Americans."

Ironically, concerns about billionaire dark money formed the basis of arguments by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders calling to investigate and launch impeachment hearings against Justice Thomas.
Now, Democrats just got caught at their own game—and it isn’t pretty.
