The Democrat Party’s civil war got a whole lot uglier.
One of their most famous political operatives finally snapped back to reality.
And now the Clinton campaign guru used two words about the LA Olympics that left Democrats squirming.
Longtime Democrat strategist goes scorched earth on California candidate
James Carville built his reputation as the mastermind behind Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential victory.
The 80-year-old Louisiana native has spent decades advising Democrats on how to win elections.
But California Democrat gubernatorial candidate Betty Yee pushed him past his breaking point with one disastrous interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Yee told Morgan she believed transgender athletes were women and should be allowed to compete in women’s sports — including at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.¹
"I think transgender athletes are women athletes and they should be able to compete," Yee insisted.²
When Morgan asked if she could name a single Olympic sport where men wouldn’t have an inherent advantage over women, Yee stumbled badly.
"You know, I think you can see female athletes where, particularly in track and field, where agility is probably –" Yee started before Morgan cut her off in disbelief.³

Carville watched the interview and unleashed a profanity-laced tirade against Yee on his Politics War Room podcast.
"What bullsh*t," Carville said in response to Yee’s claims.⁴
The veteran strategist said he was speaking as someone with daughters and friends who have daughters competing in sports.
"You know what their parents don’t want them doing for good f*cking reason is competing with males," Carville explained.⁵

Carville calls out "left-wing zombies" destroying women’s sports
Carville then dropped the phrase that has Democrats in full panic mode.
He accused politicians like Yee of trying to score a "cheap political point with a bunch of left-wing zombies."⁶
The term "left-wing zombies" perfectly captures the radical activists who have hijacked the Democrat Party on transgender issues.
These aren’t grassroots voters expressing genuine concern for fairness.
They’re professional agitators pushing an extreme agenda that 79% of Americans reject.
A January 2025 New York Times/Ipsos poll found nearly 80% of Americans believe biological males should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports — including 67% of Democrats.⁷
Yet Democrat politicians keep doubling down on this losing position to appease a tiny faction of ideological extremists.
Carville pleaded with Yee to study the massive performance gaps between male and female athletes.
"Because, what you’re doing, you understand what you’re doing, to try to some kind of cheap political point with a bunch of left-wing zombies is you’re ruining the women that work their asses off, that compete, and by the way there’s been an explosion in interest in women’s sports," Carville said.⁸
He pointed out the obvious biological reality that Yee seemed determined to ignore.
"The last thing they need to do is be competing against the Duke men’s basketball team," Carville stated.⁹
Carville concluded his rant by calling Yee’s position "asinine, asinine, asinine."¹⁰
His co-host Al Hunt noted that trans inclusion in women’s sports was "actually an insult to Title IX."¹¹
Democrats face electoral disaster if they don’t change course
Carville’s explosion reveals the deep divide within the Democrat Party over transgender athletes.
The issue played a major role in Donald Trump’s 2024 landslide victory over Kamala Harris.
A national exit poll by Concerned Women for America found that 70% of moderate voters considered Trump’s opposition to men in women’s sports an important issue.¹²
Among those voters, 6% said it was their single most important issue, while 44% called it "very important."¹³
Republican campaign ads highlighting Harris and Democrats’ support for trans athletes proved devastatingly effective.
One Trump ad featuring radio host Charlamagne tha God shifted the race 2.7 percentage points in Trump’s favor according to analysis by the pro-Harris super PAC Future Forward.¹⁴
Post-election polling by American Principles Project found that 47% of voters who saw ads about Harris’s support for men in women’s sports were more likely to vote for Trump.¹⁵
The polling showed 54% of voters support laws prohibiting biological men from competing in women’s sports.¹⁶
Even California Governor Gavin Newsom — hardly a moderate — admitted in March 2025 that transgender athletes competing against women is "deeply unfair."¹⁷
Newsom made those comments during a podcast appearance with Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk as the governor positions himself for a 2028 presidential run.
Carville predicted more Democrats would follow Newsom’s lead and break with the party’s toxic stance on this issue.
But candidates like Betty Yee show the party still has a long way to go.
The former California state controller served two terms from 2015 to 2023 before announcing her 2026 gubernatorial campaign.¹⁸
She’s no fringe candidate — Yee served as vice chair of the California Democratic Party and spent years on the State Board of Equalization.¹⁹
Yet she went on national television and suggested women might be able to compete against men in Olympic track and field events.
Morgan pressed Yee about whether she would support a "gender neutral" Olympics where sex-based categories were eliminated entirely.
"Well, I don’t think we’re going to get that tomorrow, but I think it’s a conversation worth having," Yee responded.²⁰
Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton appeared on Morgan’s show immediately after Yee and called her comments jaw-dropping.
"I think we may just have seen another California Democrat candidate torpedo their campaign for governor," Hilton said.²¹
Democrats are facing a simple choice.
They can keep listening to what Carville calls "left-wing zombies" and watch voters flee the party in droves.
Or they can embrace common sense positions that protect female athletes and align with the overwhelming majority of Americans.
The 2024 election results sent a clear message that Americans won’t tolerate the Left’s war on women’s sports.
Carville understands the political reality even if most of his party refuses to accept it.
"This is asinine, asinine, asinine," Carville said.²²
The question now is whether enough Democrats will listen before it’s too late.
