But even liberal comedians can’t ignore reality forever.
And The Daily Show host got booed by audience after making one Trump admission that left them stunned.
Liberal comedian forced to admit the obvious about Trump’s Middle East success
Comedy Central’s The Daily Show has built its brand on relentless attacks against Donald Trump.
For years, the show’s rotating cast of liberal hosts have mocked everything from Trump’s policies to his Twitter posts.
But Thursday night’s episode proved that even the most partisan comedians sometimes have to face facts.
Part-time host Josh Johnson opened his monologue with news that probably made him physically ill to deliver – Trump had just brokered a peace deal between Israel and Hamas that ended the war and secured the release of 48 remaining hostages.
"That’s right, a peace deal has been reached between Israel and Hamas and it’s based on the framework Donald Trump proposed, which means another thing you almost never hear – and I can’t believe I’m saying this – I gotta give Donald Trump some props here," Johnson reluctantly admitted.
The leftist comedian tried to soften the blow with typical Daily Show snark, joking that he could only think of three things to credit Trump with: "this, the COVID vaccine, and ‘Home Alone 2.’"
Johnson clearly struggled with having to praise the President, adding, "Don’t get me wrong, this is astonishing. Because if this peace holds, it means the guy who couldn’t stop a fight between Gary Busey and Meat Loaf brokered peace in the Middle East."
But what came next shocked everyone in the studio.
Leftwing audience couldn’t stomach giving Trump credit
After grudgingly praising Trump’s diplomatic breakthrough, Johnson decided to take it one step further.
"Either way, this is a reason to celebrate. And look, if this deal holds, maybe we should give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize?" Johnson suggested.
The studio audience – packed with the same Manhattan liberals who usually cheer every Trump insult – immediately erupted in boos.
The reaction was so harsh that Johnson quickly tried to deflect with another joke about letting Trump "burn the Epstein files" instead.
But the damage was done.
Here was a liberal comedian, on a show dedicated to mocking conservatives, getting booed by his own audience for suggesting Trump might deserve recognition for ending a war that claimed thousands of lives.
The Trump-brokered Gaza ceasefire officially went into effect Friday, with the Israeli Defense Force announcing the implementation.
The timing couldn’t be more embarrassing for the Nobel Committee, which announced Friday that Venezuelan Opposition Leader Maria Corina Machado won this year’s Nobel Peace Prize instead.
Trump’s peace record exposes the Left’s Trump Derangement Syndrome
Look, the audience reaction at The Daily Show tells you everything you need to know about how far left the media has gone.
These people literally booed the idea of giving a peace prize to someone who just ended a war and got the hostages returned.
Think about that for a moment.
Trump didn’t just broker one ceasefire – he’s been ending conflicts around the world since returning to office.
As Joel Pollak pointed out, Trump has also brokered peace deals between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and stopped wars between nuclear-armed India and Pakistan, plus Thailand and Cambodia.¹
While some of these agreements are still being implemented and violence continues in certain regions, the diplomatic breakthroughs represent significant progress on conflicts that have raged for decades.
Any other president with this track record would be getting universal praise from the media.
But because it’s Trump, even liberal comedians get booed by their own audiences for stating obvious facts.
The Nobel Committee’s decision to give the prize to someone else the same week Trump ended a Middle East war that’s been raging for over a year shows how politicized these institutions have become.
For years, world leaders and lawmakers have argued that "no leader has done more for peace" than Trump.²
The evidence keeps piling up, but Trump Derangement Syndrome runs so deep that even ending wars isn’t enough to get credit from the Left.
What we witnessed Thursday night at The Daily Show was a perfect example of how the media’s hatred of Trump has become more important to them than celebrating actual peace.
When your own liberal audience boos you for suggesting a Nobel Peace Prize for someone who just ended a war, you know the fix is in.
Trump keeps delivering results while his critics keep moving the goalposts.
